one foot up, one down. one street above, one mirrored below. the moment is real — her pace, her coat, her step midair — but the reflection makes it weightless. everything sharp. everything calm. no splash, no blur. just a crossing between worlds, caught in perfect balance. not posed. just passed.
This is my sanctuary, where night softens the edges.
The world dims, shadows linger, and I let myself exist without performance.
A place to land, to hold still, to be.
This is my sanctuary, where light, life, and calm converge. Every corner holds my story, a private refuge to breathe, reflect, and recharge.
on the wooden platform where lifeguards watch over summer swimmers, a quieter scene unfolds. itâs the 12th birthday of a girl whose laughter carries over the calm bay of portixol. the cake with the proud "12" is passed from hand to hand, as if it holds the weight of a year filled with hopes and dreams. her white dog sits beside her, vigilant, as if guarding the moment itself, its loyalty etched against the fading light.
the sun bows low on the horizon, casting gold across the water and bathing the figures in a light both fleeting and eternal. the soft clouds move lazily overhead, the lighthouse in the distance a silent witness. here, time slows to the rhythm of the sea, and the world shrinks to a single wooden stage where a small, perfect celebration takes place.
I tried some shots today with the camera set on spot metering, you know where it does the exposing based on what you want to focus on and not some average based on the whole picture. It's a bit tricky, but I loved the results when it turned out good. I'm definitely going to work more on this!
I took a lovely long walk today with my beloved camera. It's finally becoming nice and warm outside and lots of springflowers are blossoming. These were in a big flowerpot outside the big hospital that lies pretty near my place.

a fleeting moment, stretched wide in laughter, spilling into the air like sunlight breaking free from clouds. her hands clasped in a pause between bursts, the soft blur of the world behind her, the bokeh glowing like tiny stage lights for an unscripted performance.
i’m running a small giveaway on instagram for this image — if you want to join in, you’ll find the details here: instagram.com/arnds.photos
I haven't had any time to take shots recently, as things at work are so hectic. As a teacher there is always lots of stuff to do, but especially toward the end of term with parent talks and grading. I'm really nervous since I haven't done any of it before, either. But I guess it'll work itself out somehow in the end...
Anyway, since I haven't had any time to take shots I decided to upload some that I took about a month ago when we were visiting my father for his 50th birthday. There was lots of frost that weekend and everything was covered in a magical fairytale way :)

sometimes these moments magically appear, when you can really sigh and say..'yes,it's a wonderful world'
thanks everyone for all the kind comments and faves, and for viewing :)
A cozy moment behind the lens — hat on, camera up, fire crackling, and my little sidekick lounging like he owns the place. Just me doing what I love: capturing life while living it. Warm light, denim shorts, a lazy pup, and a quiet space that feels like home.
Here I am, world — showing up again, curious, creative, and exactly where I need to be.

caught in the last light at avenidas, palma — a fleeting silhouette sketched by the sun on a red canvas, lost in her screen, found in shadow.
With this little lovely heart sticker on a street light I want to wish all of my flickr friends a Happy New Year 2008! Let's hope it's a year filled with love, happiness and lots of photo opportunities of course :)

Down by the frozen lake some way from my dad's house.
Here are some more christmas shots that I edited the other day.

she walks once, yet appears twice—her reflection caught, her shadow trailing behind. the city folds around her, bending light, merging past and present in the glass of a flower stand. la rambla, where nothing is ever just one thing.
on the rambla the carousel was wrapped for the day, its plastic screen folding light into streaks and waves. through the trembling surface the little car and the silhouettes behind it turned into a soft, distorted memory — half real, half imagined.
i do believe in an everyday sort of magic -- the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone.

Look at this! The other day there was a heart in my coffee. Seriously. Now, I might have tweaked the top point just a tiny little bit to make it more apparent, but there really was a little heart in there. Little things like that can really make me smile.
Another joyous thing is that we've had two sunny days in a row. After months of darkness and gloomy skies, the sun seems to be peeking out of its hiding place. I mean, you can even tell in this shot that there is a faint light coming from the window. Just wonderful, I say :)

A moment,
as light as summer air.
Two voices,
woven into laughter
that echoes beyond the stone.
No secrets,
just joy,
etched in smiles
and held in hearts.
These last days the weather here has been incredible. Big crystals of frost covers everything and it's just so beautiful. I've had a major cold but I'm almost good now, so I took a little walk yesterday to document some of the beauty.

This weekend my dad turned 50 so me, my sister and our guys visited and helped him with his big party. We arrived friday night when it was all dark and the blinds were down, but saturday morning we got a nice surprise. This cute little bouquet of branches with berries stood in the window. And in my grandmother's old vase no less. I thought it was such a lovely sight that i of course immediately had to shoot it :)

I just LOVED this. The colour of that gate and fence is just wonderful and I thought it was so chic with the three wreaths in different colours.
The last couple of weeks I've been staying with my mom and her husband in Falun, Sweden. They live in an adorable area that is part of the UN world heritance. It's near the copper mine and it's where all the miners used to live. The place is full of picturesque little houses, mainly in red and white and just utterly charming.

A couple of weeks ago me and my boyfriend went on a little trip together. We visited his brother, his sister and her family and then my mother and her husband. While staying at his sister's we found lots of raspberries in the woods across from her house so we did some picking. Afterwards I took some shots of the berries and of the sweet kids holding them. I'm not too sure about their legs in this shot, but sometimes with kids you have to make do with a few shots before they become bored :)

Eighteen years have passed since that morning when this scene felt almost unreal: a car transformed into a mosaic of “I love you”, a gesture so large it seemed bigger than the street that held it.
Seeing this photo again now, I find myself wondering not only what happened afterward, but what remains of a gesture like this. Whether it changed something, shook a heart, saved a story, or was simply the last bright spark before silence.
Maybe she came down and smiled, or cried, or embraced the person waiting nervously around the corner. Maybe not. Maybe life moved in another direction, as it often does, without asking permission.
And yet, looking at it now, I realize that some images don’t need an ending to make sense. They remain suspended, like questions that don’t demand answers.
This photo is one of those: a fragment of courage, an overflow of feeling, an attempt to say “I love you” in a way that could not be ignored.
And perhaps that’s what still matters today: that someone, at least for one day, believed love deserved to take up all the space it could.

Some left over blueberries. It's much too late to be picking them now, but they're still pretty to look at :)
