This is what remained of the textile industry "Kamensko" in Zagreb, Croatia. Hundreds of people once worked in these buildings, and the company employed up to 2,600 people in several locations. They made quality garments. The entire factory complex was reduced to a couple of piles of rubble and will soon be replaced by (luxury) apartments...

Posrijedi je umjetnička intervencija kojom se željelo ukazati na sporost i neprovedbu obnove objekata nakon potresa koji je pogodio Zagreb 22. ožujka 2020. godine. Na slici je zgrada Centra za odgoj i obrazovanje »Slava Raškaj« koji se bavi obrazovanjem mladih oštećena sluha, osoba s govrono-jezičnim poteškoćama, autističnom djecom itd. Zgrada je nastradala u potresu i nastava se više u njoj ne odvija. Očito je da nema novaca za obnovu ovog važnog objekta koji i inače već godinama stoji zapušten.
Curtains as bandages
This is an artistic intervention aimed at pointing out the slowness and non-implementation of reconstruction of buildings after the earthquake that hit Zagreb on March 22, 2020. The picture shows the building of the Education Center "Slava Raškaj" (named after famous Croatian painter, who was deaf from birth) which deals with the education of young people with hearing impairments, people with speech and language difficulties, autistic children, etc. The building was damaged in the earthquake and classes are no longer held there. It is obvious that there is no money for the renovation of this important building, which has been neglected for years.

This is definitely not the best day for photography. However, this Sanctuary near La Coruña in Galicia, Spain, deserves to be admired in any weather.
My wife and I visited Paris last year. As expected, the fantastic Notre Dame Cathedral was on our list of attractions. We are glad that it as well as most of its treasures were saved from the furious flames of the fire. Paris just would not be the same without the Grand Dame. Hope it is returned to its glory very soon.
This photo depicts a partial view of the amazing Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. The family posing and having fun with the statue were just a welcome coincidence which added to an already beautiful composition (i.e., at least in my eyes).
This is an old HDR shot once again.
Located on a beautiful fjord on the coast of Montenegro, Kotor is a city steeped in tradition and history, with remarkable scenic views. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the old city was built between the 12th and 14th centuries and is filled with medieval architecture and historic monuments. Extending over 4 kms., the city walls that have protected Kotor for centuries lead up to the fortress of Saint Ivan. This is one of the views you will appreciate on your way up to the fortress. It is impossible to deny the beauty of this place despite the poor weather on this day. Hope you enjoy!
Despite a gloomy afternoon, a walk through this ancient city walls is a spectacular experience. Better known as Aigas Mòrtas, this is a French commune in the Gard Department of the Occitanie region, southern France. The medieval city walls surrounding the city are well preserved and are a populas attraction..
Not much to say here. Just a beautiful city all around. You'll be snapping photos everywhere. This view was across the tower at the Main Square. Just takes a few steps to climb the tower. The view is worth every step!
This is just one of many classic images from the Paris of Eastern Europe, Prague. A visit to Prague will satiate your appetites for beautiful architecture, history, culture and wonderful classical music.
Esta foto fue tomada al atardecer desde el puente Zubia. La idea era captar como un solo material como el titanio puede ofrecer tanta belleza reflejando diferentes tonos de color en función de la luz que incida sobre el edificio. Realmente es una obra de arte. / This photo was taken at sunset from the Zubia bridge. The idea was to capture as a single material as the titanium can offer so much beauty reflecting different shades of color depending on the light that affects the building. It really is a work of art.
Of course it's not the last journey, but it is a passageway... a path that leads elsewhere, an urban route that is a story in itself and that creates the imagination...

This young pizzaiola takes her break on this doorstep, not far from the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. There's a tourist frenzy rumbling around her, but she's sitting there quietly, living her life. And I see her, all contrasting colours. That's all it takes to create inverted colours.

Cette jeune pizzaiola prend sa pause sur le pas de cette porte, non loin de la fameuse tour de Pise. Il y a une frénésie touristique autour d’elle qui gronde, mais elle est assise là tranquille, elle vit sa vie. Et moi je la vois, toute en contraste de couleurs. Il n’en faut pas plus pour créer les couleurs inversées.
This is a close-up of Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a monument on the northern bank of the Tagus River estuary, in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém, Lisbon. Located along the river where ships departed to explore and trade with India and the Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery during the 15th and 16th centuries. We made it to Lisbon there last year from Madeira before driving south to the Algarve.
In Rome, not every story is written with a capital H...

During a walk in the dunes along the Belgian coast, in Coxyde, at the top of one of them, I came across this man, motionless, calm in the silence of the wind. Was he praying? Was he breathing? We'll never know, but he was beautiful to look at... and to photograph.

Lors d’une balada dans les dunes le long d la côte belge, à Coxyde, en haut d’une de celles-ci, je suis tombé sur cette homme, immobile, calme dans le silence du vent. Priait-il? Respirait-il? Nous n’en saurons jamais rien, mais il était beau à voir… et à photographier.
Porto, also known as Oporto in English, is the second-largest city in Portugal after Lisbon and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Peninsula. Located along the Douro river estuary in Northern Portugal, Porto is one of the oldest European centres, and its historical core was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. The western part of its urban area extends to the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean. One of Portugal's internationally famous exports, port wine, is named after Porto, since the metropolitan area, and in particular the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, were responsible for the packaging, transport and export of the fortified wine.
A paradox in the heart of Barcelona: as the city center hums with weekend energy, this corner holds onto its stillness.
