El Eurofighter Typhoon (literalmente: «eurocaza tifón») es un caza polivalente, bimotor, de gran maniobrabilidad, diseñado y construido por el consorcio de empresas europeas Eurofighter GmbH, creado en 1983 y compuesto por las compañÃas Airbus Group, BAE Systems y Alenia Aeronautica.​ Realizó su primer vuelo el 27 de marzo de 1994,​ entrando en servicio el 8 de abril de 2003 con Alemania.​ Su diseño con configuración de ala en delta-cantilever se parece al de otros aviones de combate europeos, tales como el Dassault Rafale, de Francia, y el Saab 39 Gripen, de Suecia. Se diseñó potenciando la agilidad, capacidades furtivas y la inclusión de sistemas de aviación avanzados, convirtiéndolo en la fecha de lanzamiento en uno de los mejores cazas de cuarta generación entonces en servicio. Ante la irrupción de los aviones de combate de quinta generación, se encuentra en desarrollo un programa de actualización llamado Long Term Evolution, con el fin de prolongar sus capacidades y vida útil.

11th July 2016 - Eurofighter F-2000A Typhoon 'MM7310/36-32' of the Italian Air Force prepares to depart the Royal International Air Tattoo.
This is my favourite plane... Just too sexy :o)
The noise the Afterburn makes, makes your chest rattle... I love it lol
Took a chance on the weather Saturday and popped up to Dawlish for the Air Show, the best light was to be had early on when the Typhoon flew, not a patch on last years weather but a great show all the same! :)

The Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 is shown here adorned with invasion stripes, a tribute to the high-visibility markings first used on Allied aircraft during the D-Day landings in 1944. These black-and-white bands were painted on wings and fuselages to help friendly forces quickly identify aircraft and prevent fratricide during large-scale operations. On this modern multirole fighter, the stripes serve as a symbolic link to aviation history while the Typhoon continues its roles in air superiority, ground strike, and reconnaissance missions. The image highlights both the aircraft’s agility and its connection to decades of European air power heritage.
