Eric Nichols strikes his best cowboy pose at Hermann Farm in Hermann Missouri. Eric is the Director of Operations at the farm and is also an avid antique dealer and collector. Eric Cove is an inlet off Hudson Strait at Cape Wolstenholme on the Ungava Peninsula, Nunavik. The northernmost tip of the province of Quebec, Canada, is near here.
This is a re-fold of my homage to Eric Joisel. The original went into the grave with him at his funeral.

Had to reshoot this photo for the early one I took before. He wanted to do a backside grab, so I set up, and security came right away to kick us out. He went all quick before I could compose and move my flash out of the way, so that's why there's so much of the wall and my shadow in this. A cop came by and told us "it's time to go."

My son was really having a good time doing double back flips 15 feet in the air, at the Renaissance Festival, Holly Michigan, 2005. I have no idea what this has to do with the Renaissance.
Due to popular demand, I gave Eric his feet back.

09.04.25 - They say you should never meet your heroes, because you may not like what you find. I'm here to tell you it's not always the case and meeting your heroes is pretty damn cool.
I've been enthralled with Eric Meola's photography for years. The gentleman photographed what is arguably the most icon album cover in the rock 'n roll history - the Born To Run.
Last night, hearing him speak about it at the Rechnitz Hall DiMattio Gallery on the campus of Monmouth University, where he has a showing - as part of the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music Born To Run 50th Anniversary slew of events this week, was absolutely amazing. His stories, remembrances, anecdotes, and insights are amazing.
But even aside from that piece of rock 'n roll history...the man is a fantastic photographer and writer.
For the past 50 years, he's been exploring color and light (just like his mentor, Pete Turner) through his vision and travels. And while his color abstracts are amazing, he's also saddled up and storm chased as well, documenting the powerful weather of the Plains.
And....and....the essays he writes in his books and as captions this photos on FB are amazing. Eric's mastery of the English language to evoke a sense of time and being may be even better than his photography.
Even though I was covering the event for the Archives, I still had to slip in and get my photo taken with the Master. Such a pleasure to spend a few minutes with such a wonderful person.
