I found it struggle to make landscape photography work during the summer, but it's fine for planning autumn photography. I have planned this photo from June, and I finally nailed it in this week's trip to the Isle of Skye.
I chose the route from Sligachan with a total of 8 miles hike to the summit. It's only 494 meters in height, but it's steep and tough with 30 KG of camping gear and photography equipment. I had to take a few breaks before reached to the summit. The hike is challenging, but the view is definitely worth it. The northern wind blew fiercely on the summit. I set up my tent just behind these rocks, which created a perfect windbreaker and protected me from the wind gusts. Some incredible sunset I had while I was eating my dinner on the summit. I didn't get much sleep due to the noise of the wind and rain flapped the tent.
No rain, no breeze when I woke up at 5 AM. I have to say I had my faith in meteorologists, and they didn't fail me this time. The photo was taken at the blue hour (around 6 AM), followed by some fantastic sunrise photos.

The thing is called a "Kesselbrücke", works basically like a Schnabel car on a railway, the main difference is that the load is vertically adjustable to pass over or under obstacles. Another difference - the load is placed on a dedicated platform between the two halves of the vehicle, therefore the load does not need to have the mechanical stiffness to bear its own weight (loads on Schnabel cars must be stiff).
Total length is 96 m, it has total 34 axles (count them if you wish...).
The load is a 210 t heavy gas turbine for the Heizkraftwerk Süd power station in the south of Munich.

An M42 17mm Takumar lens adapted to my Sony A7. The lens was made sometime between 1967 and 1971. The largest diameter of the focus ring is 66mm. Lens and adapter measure about 57mm in length. This is what the lens sees. HMM and thanks for any views, faves and comments.

L'octroi de Terrasson
Véritable système de douane locale, l'octroi fut une structure particulièrement importante pour les revenus communaux. Il servait notamment à financer l'entretien des fortifications et les travaux d'utilité publique.
Le terme "octroi" vient du verbe octroyer qui signifie accorder: la ville octroie l'entrée des marchandises en échange d'une taxe. Ces taxes, toujours mal acceptées furent supprimées définitivement à la fin de la seconde guerre mondiale. Ce bureau d'octroi servit par la suite de balance officielle à la commune. Elle permettait aux éleveurs et aux agriculteurs de peser et d'officialiser le poids de leur marchandise avant la vente.
Situé près du vieux pont, le local ainsi que son équipement de pesée ont été remis au goût du jour il y a peu.
The Grant of Terrasson
A true local customs system, the appropriation was a particularly important structure for municipal revenues. It was used in particular to finance the maintenance of fortifications and public utility works.
The term "grant" comes from the verb grant which means to grant: the city grants the entry of goods in exchange for a tax. These taxes, always poorly accepted, were definitively abolished at the end of the Second World War. This granting office subsequently served as the municipality's official balance sheet. It allowed breeders and farmers to weigh and formalize the weight of their merchandise before sale.
Located near the old bridge, the premises and its weighing equipment were recently brought up to date.

These are the big chicks, getting ready to fledge. I've been watching them for a few days, but they've either been flapping on cloudy days or sitting in the nest like bumps on a log on sunny days. I finally got them flapping on a sunny morning even if with the distance away, the partly cloudy sky behind, and the shady nest, the photos aren't the best. This may have been my best chance given that they'll leave soon and cloudy conditions are coming up do to frequent thunderstorms. Great Blue Herons, Siskiyou County, California
Was shooting some pictures at my brother's wedding. Unfortunately, most of the shots later in the evening were at high ISO as I do not have light equipment.
The staff shut down the light when they brought out the cake, allowing me to create strong contrast between the fireworks and the background. I love how the fireworks also light up the fronts of the waiters.
Unfortunately, I had no time to switch to lower ISO (as would have been possible given the super fast shutter time). The grain is a pity, but I'm still happy I made this shot.
The Museum collection has grown to over 5,600 historical artifacts of farming equipment and pioneer life in British Columbia, on display in two buildings.

Here, the object on the support is the acrylic panel whose enlarged structure can be seen in the previous picture.
What ever this piece of equipment was/is must have been pretty heavy as it is place on a cement structure. Maybe a part of a heavy-duty motor?

They're making a helluva racket on Richmond St. over the past few months, laying some sort of jumbo plumbing. They dig, lay pipe, put in temporary plates and asphalt, then return in a month to dig it up again and do some other kinda thing. I'm sure there's a method to the madness but when you're trying to listen or talk in a meeting, it can feel like giant sand worms are burrowing through the street - sometimes the whole house shakes! This gear was occupying our usual parking spot one morning.

Processing images of galaxies It’s not my favourite, I much rather be processing a nebula but it’s that time of year. I image this back in mid April but I put it to one side to process M57 the Owl nebula which I images afterwards, way more enjoyable.

M101 The Pinwheel Galaxy is a face-on spiral galaxy at a distanced of 21 million light-years away from Earth with a diameter of 170,000 light-years and has around a trillion stars, approximately twice the number that are in the Milky Way. M101 can be found in the constellation of Ursa Major. The Pinwheel Galaxy has a high population of H II regions where hydrogen gas is contracting under its own gravitational force resulting in stars formation taking place
