it was so romantic beautiful at the Gentleshaw Common, England

Back from a fabulous visit with family and friends in U.K.

I took many countryside, stately homes and architecture photos.

Never changing, a view that has been seen over the many centuries. Interesting to see in this ageless shot the radar installation that guards the entrance to Plymouth RN base.

When in England, we stayed with Sarah Fraser, my very good friend that I met on Flickr. While there, we met up with Gary Neave, also from Flickr, and we all went to Hastings, a wonderful coastal town. We took a funicular tram to the top of a rocky hill, and this was the view from the top, looking down at all the roofs and houses.

Rest time amid the tour with friends in this charming city, Cambridge.

England

Taken this morning. It was fairly bright until I got into the woods. But the reds and yellows were still vibrant. The mist made the woods look like a painting!

Wishing England a good game this afternoon and may you win!

Cuckmere Haven. This is where the 'Cuckmere River' (apparently one should never say 'River Cuckmere') meets the sea, viewed from the Seaford Head side. You can just see a small patch of the deep-blue fresh water on the far left, as it flows out into the white-capped breakers of the rather choppy Channel.

I suspect that every photographer who has been to this part of the Sussex coast has a version of this shot in their archive, and rightly so.

England.

Sussex.

Home.

Came to York on the train today and this decorated door reminded us that we had left Scotland and arrived in England. Beautiful old town.
