Inkcap

Glistening inkcap - Coprinus micaceus, with tiny insect...if you can spot it!

Growing from beneath a rotting tree trunk and leaf litter. Seen here in the Peak District

Many thanks everyone for your visits, comments/faves...lovely to hear from you :)

Back from a fabulous visit with family and friends in U.K.

I took many countryside, stately homes and architecture photos.

These lovely asters just glowed in the late afternoon sun. I particularly liked the backlighting of some of the petals. Found in the Wild Gardens of Acadia in Acadia National Park.

Never changing, a view that has been seen over the many centuries. Interesting to see in this ageless shot the radar installation that guards the entrance to Plymouth RN base.

Rest time amid the tour with friends in this charming city, Cambridge.

England

Castle combe. England UK. (There is no castle..)

Castle Combe is a picturesque, historically preserved medieval village in the southern Cotswolds, England, known as "the prettiest village in England". It features honey-colored stone buildings, the iconic Market Cross, and the Bybrook River, which flows through the village

Taken this morning. It was fairly bright until I got into the woods. But the reds and yellows were still vibrant. The mist made the woods look like a painting!

On Black

A year ago I took a photo of this avenue that has become my own favourite. --

So I looked back in memory for any others of that time I wanted to share.

Here's the first.

This was before I was stopped by the RAF police, or knew how sensitive they were about their trees. (I was on a public footpath.)

On US Route 3 near the Canadian border in New Hampshire

This picture is a blend of 6 shoots with different exposure times.

IMGP6401. Ironbridge is a large village in Telford and Wrekin Borough on the bank of the River Severn, at the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge, near Telford, Shropshire, England.

Along the Great Broad Walk Borders.

Wishing England a good game this afternoon and may you win!

The Balmoral steaming away form Clevedon Pier on her journey across the Bristol Channel. I would have loved a trip on her but this was the last trip of the day and heavy rain was setting in.

We still had a great time at Clevedon though. we visited the lovely church that was featured in the tv series Broadchurch. I always thought most of this series was filmed in Dorset but it seems various locations around Clevedon were used you can see why, it's a lovely town with so many Victorian features.

Old fishing hut at Devoke Water...

Came to York on the train today and this decorated door reminded us that we had left Scotland and arrived in England. Beautiful old town.

Cuckmere Haven. This is where the 'Cuckmere River' (apparently one should never say 'River Cuckmere') meets the sea, viewed from the Seaford Head side. You can just see a small patch of the deep-blue fresh water on the far left, as it flows out into the white-capped breakers of the rather choppy Channel.

I suspect that every photographer who has been to this part of the Sussex coast has a version of this shot in their archive, and rightly so.

England.

Sussex.

Home.

This was taken of the well-known York Minster which is in the background behind some unknown buildings in the town of York, England. I was walking the York City Walls when I captured this. The York Minster has some of the most amazing stained glass you will ever see, and apparently some of it dates back to the 12th century - definitely worth a visit if you are ever in York.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by to view, fave, and comment.
