This Osprey did not want a juvenile Bald Eagle in it's territory. This was the first time Bald Eagle has been in the park. They both wanted to claim a pond with fish in it. A picture of the Bald Eagle is next picture to the right.

This is a frame that I will be using as a sequence for my next AV video that I am in the precess in doing probably going to be called "Sky High"

A close encounter with my mate Robin.

The dog is trying to figure out my mix as I try to figure out his.

Early morning at the Mormon barn. There were just three other people there when I was shooting so I knew the other vehicle had to be theirs. It was a truck with a logo for Antelope Canyons on it. I noticed these gentlemen were Native Americans so I struck up a conversation with them as I LOVE Antelope Canyon. They had a U-Haul van attached to their truck. Turned out they were on their way to Standing Rock to deliver a load of donations. I was so excited as I really believe in their cause. Had a nice visit and prayers that this situation will come out right. They are standing up for all our rights to clean water and sacred land.

I approached this turtle at the lakeside after one of them jumped into the lake pretty soon. At first, it looked a bit scared by withdrawing its head into the protective shell. Assuring it that I was a good person, I showed it one of the turtle photos I shot the previous day. (I think I encountered this turtle for two consecutive days.) To my great delight, it stretched out its head and looked at the photo. Then it PROUDLY presented its best pose for me to photograph. What a marvelous moment! What a smart, handsome turtle!

Sudden encounter on the cemetry - there you can meet squirrels begging for nuts.

I layed down a peanut but a little mouse hurried from the side and succeeded in getting it.

although I saw hippos every day during the Kafue trip last November I did not get great shots. Some of the encounters in the rather shallow water of the Kafue River were so close that taking an image was not a priority ...

Hello my amazing friends !

Today we have 2 eggs sitting in a forest. Of course this is another AI generated vision and not just 2 eggs I encountered during my hike in the very foggy and moody woods… we will never know what 2 eggs are doing all alone in the woods. And we will probably never know why one egg is white and the other is black … But the results is intriguing and I hope you will like it as much as I do !!

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! See you later !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!!

A close encounter of the best kind. Nice kitty kitty! Arizona Bobcat in the wild.

Another shot from a great encounter with this Owl from a couple of weeks ago. Always a wonderful experience.

A memory from last Spring. This male Scarlet Tanager wanted to sit on my lens. I have never had one get so close.

I like these accidental encounters. You are driving your car through the mountains, the light changes from high standing sun to low standing sun in the evening. It becomes slightly hazy, the shadows become longer, the landscape more diffuse. And suddenly you encounter one subject after the other.

This image with colorful effects reminds me some scenes from the movie "Close encounter of third kind". In the center I can imagine the landing strip for spaceships... :)))

My dear Flickr friends,

Sorry for my absence these last weeks. I have been quite busy getting my own business (www.esthersfotografie.nl) of the ground.

This shot of the fox was an unexpected encounter. I was looking for foxes together with a colleague of mine. However we did not see them. We decided to look for other subjects to photograph and saw some grasshoppers. While we were taking photos of these beautiful small insects, I suddenly saw something moving at my leftside. As I looked up, I saw a fox at only one meter away. I softly said to my colleague not to be scared and I turned my camera immediately towards the fox which was apparantly very curious of what we were doing squatting in the long grass. And I was just thrilled to have my 50mm lens ready when needed.

The fox may have also been wondering why he was not the subject to be photographed. Anyway, the fox appeared very sudden, but also disappeared like winking.

Close Encounter of the Bird Kind

There was a light rolling fog this morning which made its magic so I definitely did not want to crop. PLEASE ENLARGE to see how clear the extender picks up everything.

I have been taking a Wildlife Photography course this week where the instructor discussed using his Extender, so..... I went out early this morning to practice using the extender and was blessed with fog and herons disagreeing. Using an extender IS NOT for the faint of heart. Actually I missed some of the shots of this encounter because I was using a tripod and did not have time to zoom my lens back in to get the action.😣

While walking the trail this afternoon, I encountered this Great Blue Heron. I thought it was a little odd for him to still be here, but with open water he was still doing just fine. We spent several hours together, I snapping photos and him just doing what he does best..posing!

I am here to answer your prayers, earthlings. Consider yourself saved!

@{-->-- ...thank aou all very much my friends...:)))

There are some insect encounters that I treasure and this is one. I had been taking photographs of flowers in my yard. Walking past our chimney, I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. There, at eye level, was a wasp....and it was moving right towards me.

I quickly changed to manual focus and hoped the shots I was taking would be somewhat clear. I'm sure my heart was beating quickly, yet I tried to hold my breath to steady the camera. This was the last image captured. Whew!
