With majesty and beauty, even in its ugliness, the pylon cuts an imposing presence in this dawn farmland landscape.

Reprocessed and de-spotted (mostly), a shot from 26 years ago taken one winter's morning at Shenstone, Staffordshire, not far from what was then home.

It's hard to beat the smooth gradation from dark blue to orange and yellow that you get on film. This was taken on Fujichrome Provia (100asa).
