After seeing the shadow in DSC_1163, I continued to explore my bathroom late at night, coming upon this mysterious embryo shape living behind the curtain.
NGC 1333, also known as the Embryo Nebula, is a reflection nebula located 967 light-years away in the northern constellation Perseus. The nebula is an active star-forming region within the larger Perseus molecular cloud. It contains young star clusters that are still embedded in their birth clouds.
The open clusters in the Embryo Nebula are divided into two sub-groups. One sub-group lies in the northern part of the nebula and the other in the southern. Those in the southern part contribute the most to the nebula’s infrared emission. The designation NGC 1333 is used both for the nebula and the associated cluster.
Many of the stars in the young clusters are still in the pre-main sequence stage of their evolutionary cycle. They are still accreting mass from their surrounding envelopes of gas and dust. These stars will eventually contract to the main sequence and start burning hydrogen.
The reflection nebula has a total mass of around 450 solar masses. The open cluster contains around 150 stars and has a mass of 100 solar masses. The median age of the stars in the region is only 1 million years.
The young stellar objects in the Embryo Nebula are producing jets and bipolar outflows. Some are associated with Herbig-Haro objects. These are smaller patches of nebulosity that form when jets of partially ionized gas expelled by stars collide with the surrounding gas and dust clouds.

48 hour chick embryo
yeah, it's upside down, but the label is right side up.
This is a full term embryo of a Northern Bobwhite that did not succesfully hatch. You can see it has fully formed limbs and feathers. This photo was taken at the Sinclair Tract of Peabody WMA in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.
We get there knowing they will be discussing the score of all the embryos and how many we should transfer considering my age and other factors. I figure they will want to transfer 3 and that's a big pill to swallow. But they want to put back four. And they are quite adament that this will give us our best chance at one healthy baby. So here is the picture of my 4 little chances.

After a couple of self-produced works and a first album ('Chaotic Age' - Officina Rock) Embryo found its sound and went to Fear Studio to record its second cd 'No God Slave' (Rising Records – 2010) with producer Simone Mularoni. Salvatore Perrone directed 2 videos for the tracks “No God Slave” and “Flatterer Of Indifference”. This album has also received very good reviews (8/10 metallus.it, 10/10 truecultheavymetal.com, 6/7 metalnews.de….) and led the band to play new gigs in Switzerland, Germany and Italy and be part of Kung Fu Factory’s Supremacy MMA videogame soundtrack with 2 songs. After 'No God Slave' the guitar player Uge had the honor to become Peavey endorser. In 2014 Embryo records a promo at Atomic Stuff Studio with Oscar Burato and signs a promotional deal with Atomic Stuff Promotion. In May the band will record the new cd in Domination Studio with Simone Mularoni. The be(a)st is yet to come!
