This was taken from the boat taking tourists from the town of Elounda to the island of Spinalonga.

The view is looking south with area of Elounda on the right and the island of Kalydon on the left of the photo. In the distance are the mountains of the south eastern area of the Greek island of Crete.

Elounda est devenu une station de vacances connue pour ses établissements qui sont parmi les plus luxueux de l'île.

Parmi les personnalités qui fréquentent le village, les plus connues sont l'ancien premier ministre grec Andréas Papandréou qui avait l'habitude de passer ses étés à Elounda et, aujourd'hui, la famille royale d'Arabie saoudite se rend quasiment chaque année dans la station.

C’est à partir du port d’Elounda que nous nous sommes rendus sur l’île de Spinalonga … nous n’y sommes pas restés longtemps vu le « timing » imposé par les responsables de cette excursion !
