Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is Lockdown song. I must admit I’m very bad at music… Singing and dancing are a challenge… Also, I can listen to one song for a very, very long time without even noticing that it was playing forever… Luckily for me my husband is the one in charge of music at our home. After all, he is a very talented musician with his own awesome YouTube channel (and if you want to see by yourself here is the link: www.youtube.com/c/NuTrixTheSynthGuy/about). And my husband si truly into electronic music so that is our main lockdown musical genre playing everyday. If i have to name one band it is Daft Punk for sure.

My picture was inspired by electronic music and you can see some kind of device to make music (I have absolutely no idea how does it work so dont ask me…). Of course, Red Lady, who was a very successful DJ few years ago, is here with us since she loves electronic music !!

I hope you will like this picture my friends ! I wish you all an amazing day and a beautiful new week !! See you later !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

...on a circuit board.

For Macro Mondays: "Small and Smaller" theme, it's a demonstration board from Universal Instruments Corp. that I've had for many years. The company builds automated machines for placing and attaching components--both small and smaller--to circuit boards.

The image measures just 1 5/8-inch on the long side.

Buff-banded Rail

Scientific Name: Gallirallus philippensis

Description: The Buff-banded Rail is a medium-sized stout rail with short legs. It has a distinctive grey eyebrow and an orange-brown band on its streaked breast. The lores, cheek and hindneck are rich chestnut. The chin and throat are grey, the upperparts streaked brown and the underparts barred black and white. The eye is red. Young birds are much paler to white underneath, with indistinct bars and only a faint orange-brown tint on the breast. Downy chicks are fluffy black. This rail walks slowly, with tail raised and flicking constantly.

Similar species: The orange-brown breast band distinguishes the Buff-banded Rail from the similar but smaller Lewin's Rail,Dryolimnas pectoralis, which has a rich chestnut crown and nape and a proportionally longer pink bill.

Distribution: The Buff-banded Rail is widespread in mainland Australia, particularly along the eastern coast and islands, and on Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands. It is also found in south-east Asia, New Guinea and New Zealand.

Habitat: The Buff-banded Rail is seen singly or in pairs in dense reeds and vegetation bordering many types of wetlands or crops. It makes widespread use of artificial wetlands like sewage ponds and drainage channels.

Seasonal movements: The Buff-banded Rail is resident and possibly locally nomadic, though little is known of these movements.

Feeding: The Buff-banded Rail feeds on crustaceans, molluscs, insects, seeds, fruit, frogs, carrion and refuse. It mostly feeds early in the morning and the evening.

Breeding: Breeding is poorly known, but the Buff-breasted Rail nests in long grass, tussocks, rushes or crops. It makes an unlined cup-shaped nest of grasses or reeds. Both parents incubate and the young will leave the nest within 24 hours. Both parents remain with the young, which usually feed themselves, though the female may feed them as well. Two broods may be raised in some seasons.

Calls: Loud creaky squeak when breeding but usually silent.

Minimum Size: 28cm

Maximum Size: 33cm

Average size: 31cm

Average weight: 130g

Breeding season: September to February

Clutch Size: 5 to 8 eggs

Incubation: 19 days

Nestling Period: 1 days

The Municipal Fire Department (Bombeiros) of Olhão has to deal with a wide variety of fires in its service region, including the barrier islands of Ormona and Culatra/Farol, has a large assortment of fire-fighting equipment and can enlist the help of helicopters. It has a Logistics Support Team and a Pre-Hospital Brigade too. Shown here are two new Scania water tanker trucks ('autotanques').

Probably gonna get a bit "hate" for this one (but dont care a frikkin bit about that). This was shot on the Minolta P's. A (fake) panoramic point and shoot. It was one of two cameras I bought this year. The other camera I bought was a Tomiyama 6x17 camera. Already posted some photos I took that camera.

Yeah, been going all wide this year. Also shoot "a ton" of panoramics with 135mm film and my Mamiya 7ii.

So what is this Minolta P's you might ask? Fake panoramics get a lot of "shitty" reviews. The panorama crop is often a mask in electronic point and shot cameras. You basically cut the top and bottom of the film. With this camera you only get the panoramic crop. The lens is not sharp, and you lose plenty of resolution with this crop. But, the "deal-breaker" (for me), is the viewfinder. You get the panoramic crop.

Despite its obvious flaws, I think I will use this camera a lot next year. Best of all... it only cost me $55 (got the gold limited version).

Coming up next. A year in review, films. Part 2

H.M.M. :-)

The Macro Monday challenge for Monday the 4th is "gift."

Since we could not get together with our son, who lives across the country, we gave him seven days of electronic gifts, one each day, starting on the 25th.
