Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is Lockdown song. I must admit I’m very bad at music… Singing and dancing are a challenge… Also, I can listen to one song for a very, very long time without even noticing that it was playing forever… Luckily for me my husband is the one in charge of music at our home. After all, he is a very talented musician with his own awesome YouTube channel (and if you want to see by yourself here is the link: www.youtube.com/c/NuTrixTheSynthGuy/about). And my husband si truly into electronic music so that is our main lockdown musical genre playing everyday. If i have to name one band it is Daft Punk for sure.
My picture was inspired by electronic music and you can see some kind of device to make music (I have absolutely no idea how does it work so dont ask me…). Of course, Red Lady, who was a very successful DJ few years ago, is here with us since she loves electronic music !!
I hope you will like this picture my friends ! I wish you all an amazing day and a beautiful new week !! See you later !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

Splendid Fairy-wren
Scientific Name: Malurus splendens
Description: The breeding plumage of the male is predominantly blue, varying from cobalt-blue in the east of its range to violet-blue in the west.It has black bands at the base of the tail (absent in the violet-blue birds), across the breast and from the beak, through the eyes to join a band across the back of its neck. Its crown and cheek patches are paler blue. Wings and long tail are brown with a blue wash. His beak is black and his legs and feet are brown-grey. In non-breeding plumage, called eclipse, he is very similar to the female, being pale brown above and buff to white underneath although he retains the blue wash on wings and tail. The female does not have the blue wash on her wings, but does have a reddish-tan line from beak to eye that extends into a ring around her eye. Her beak is reddish-tan.
Similar species: The male in breeding plumage is quite distinct but in eclipse he is similar to the males of other fairy-wrens in eclipse. A faint wash of blue on male wings during eclipse distinguishes this species from others. The female is similar to females of other fairy-wren species, but has a bluer tail than most.
Distribution: These birds are widely distributed across Australia in two areas. One area is from about Shark Bay south through WA, through SA except the coast to about the Flinders Ranges and the southern and central parts of NT. The eastern area include SA from the Flinders Ranges, the far north-western tip of Vic, NSW east to about Moree and Balranald and south central Qld.
Habitat: These birds live in arid to semi-arid areas, in mostly dense shrublands or woodlands of acacia, and mallee eucalypt with dense shrubs.
Seasonal movements: These birds are mostly sedentary, defending a territory all year, but the younger females may disperse to another territory. In some areas they are semi-nomadic, depending on local conditions.
Feeding: Like most of the fairy-wrens, Splendid Fairy-wrens eat mostly insects and forage on both the ground and in shrubs. They live in groups which forage together.
Breeding: The Splendid Fairy-wren female builds an oval domed nest of dry grass, strips of bark and rootlets, with an entrance two thirds of the way up one side. The female is the only member of the group to incubate the eggs, but all members of the group feed the chicks.
Calls: A rapid series of slightly metallic, high-pitched pips that blend into an "undulating" call.
Minimum Size: 12cm
Maximum Size: 14cm
Average size: 13cm
Average weight: 9g
Breeding season: mostly September-December, but can extend from August to April
Clutch Size: 2 to 4, mostly 3
Incubation: 15 days
Nestling Period: 11 days

Square-tailed Kite
Scientific Name: Lophoictinia isura
Although it usually occurs singly, the Square-tailed Kite is sometimes seen soaring in pairs during the breeding season, and family groups of adults and one or two dependent young may be seen during post-fledging period. The Square-tailed Kite usually hunts by flying low over the treetops, occasionally plunging down through the foliage to snatch a bird or insect from among the leaves or twigs. The species often eats the nestlings of birds, and sometimes it will remove the entire nest to get at the young birds, and at other times may remove the tiny birds, one clutched tightly by the talons of each foot. They also catch adult birds by surprising them in the canopy of the forest.
Description: Often solitary, but can be seen in pairs when nesting. Squared-tailed Kites have a long, square tail with very long, upswept paddle-shaped wings and a large cream crescent at the base of their wing tips.
Similar Species: Immature Black Kite, Black-breasted Buzzard, and Red Goshawk
Distribution: Endemic to mainland Australia.
Habitat: The species mainly inhabits open eucalypt forests and woodlands, often where there is a broken canopy, but it also ranges into nearby open habitats. In southern Australia, Square-tailed Kites mainly inhabit open eucalypt forests and woodlands, often dominated by stringybarks, peppermints or box–ironbark eucalypts, as well as Woollybutt, Spotted Gum, Manna Gum, Messmate, River Red Gums, as well as other trees such as Angophora, cypress-pines and casuarinas. It also occurs along the edges of dense forest and along in road verges with remnant or planted trees, and in clearings within forest or in areas of regrowth, up to 4 years after the area has been logged. Other habitats which occasionally support Square-tailed Kites include mallee, heathland (mallee or coastal) and other low shrublands including saltbush plains, and also grasslands or open or cultivated farmland near remnant woodland.
Feeding: Searching for prey from the air, where they are highly agile at low levels, they mainly hunt in eucalypt open forest or woodland, and less often in low shrublands, heath, grassland or crops, and the margins between open and timbered country (forest–heath; woodland–heath; forest–open field; mallee–open paddocks; woodland edges; riparian timber; belts of trees in urban or semi-urban areas; and clearings in forests) are especially favoured. They specialise in hunting among trees, twisting between and below tree-tops, and they take most prey from the outer foliage of the canopy, but do not enter the canopy.
Breeding: Square-tailed Kites nest on horizontal branches in mature living trees, especially eucalypts, often near water, and they need extensive areas of forest or woodland surrounding or nearby.
Calls: Yelping, yeep, yeep, yeep. Also squealing ee ee ee ee
Minimum Size: 50cm
Maximum Size: 55cm
Average size: 53cm
Average weight: 568g
Breeding season: Aug - Dec
Incubation: 37 days
Nestling Period: 63 days

She has him wrapped around her little finger with a time of 15.46 They make such a great team.
This event requires control, attention to detail, and a close partnership between horse and rider. Competing against the clock, contestants circle three barrels in a cloverleaf pattern and race back across the scoreline. Time is measured with an electronic eye timer, and a hundredth of a second can determine who wins. A rider may touch a barrel, but if she knocks one over a five-second penalty is added to her total time.

A nice electronic device, but unfortunately obsolete - because the battery pack is not loading anymore. Now the bears use it for climbing and sliding before it is going to the recycling center. What a shame that the battery pack cannot be replaced - that's not environmentally-friendly and a real waste... In fact, I do not like those one-way items which cannot be repaired or partly be replaced.
Just to make it clear: ONLY THE SWEEPER IS OBSOLETE AND NOT THE BEARS !!!

Musk Lorikeet
Glossopsitta concinna
Bird Overview: The Musk Lorikeet specialises in feeding on the nectar which is produced by flowering eucalypts, and sometimes also from the flowers of banksias and grevilleas. They collect nectar with their brush-shaped tongues. Musk Lorikeets are usually seen feeding in large noisy flocks in the canopy of eucalypts, often associating with other nectar-feeding birds, especially Rainbow Lorikeets and honeyeaters. The movements of Musk Lorikeets are often correlated with the flowering of trees, with birds appearing when the trees are in bloom, and leaving after the flowering has finished.
Identification: The Musk Lorikeet is a medium-sized, sturdy lorikeet, sometimes seen in large flocks when trees are flowering and often in mixed flocks with other parrots and other birds. They are active and noisy. This lorikeet is mostly green, with a yellow patch at the side of the breast. It has a bright red forehead and band through the eye to the ear coverts. The crown is blue, with females having less blue than males. In flight, brown flight feathers and the golden tail are revealed. Flight is fast and direct, with short angular wings and a medium-length, pointed to wedge-shaped tail.
Songs and Calls: The usual contact call is a shrill metallic screech, higher than the Rainbow Lorikeet, in flight and when perched. They constantly chatter when feeding.
Habitat: Musk Lorikeets are found in tall, open, dry forest and woodlands, dominated by eucalypts and are usually found in the canopy. They are also seen in suburban areas, parks and street trees. They roost or loaf in tall trees away from their feeding sites.
Behaviour: Musk Lorikeets are gregarious, often mixing with other parrots when feeding, including Scaly-breasted Lorikeets, Little Lorikeets and Swift Parrots.
Feeding: Musk Lorikeets feed in all levels of the canopy and are very active when foraging. They eat mainly pollen and nectar from eucalypts using their specialised brush-tipped tongues, but also eat seeds, fruits and insects and their larvae.
Breeding: Musk Lorikeets breed in hollow branches and holes in living eucalypts, often near watercourses. The entrance holes are usually very small, so they have to squeeze in. Eggs are laid on a base of chewed or decayed wood. The female incubate the eggs and both parents roost in the hollow at night.

Jan Theuninck has been painting the evolution of Western totalitarianism for 20 years - he saw the evolution within the political spectrum where the socialist parties were lost (Fagospatose, 2001) in the Third Way (The third way is no way, 2004) movement of Clinton , Blair and Schröder with which they gave a face to communitarianism of the New World Order. He has often compared the latter to a new kind of National Socialism. His attention has always been fixed thanks to the more than 50 years of misery with blackmail games of the services and torture practices with chemical and energy weapons (Beyond the limit, 2001, Rinascimento, 2009, The culture of learned helplessness, 2011, Neostasi, 2012, Derailed system , 2012, The banality of Evil, 2013, Zersetzung, 2014, ils nous tiennent, 2015, Submission, 2015, Threat, 2016, Utopia, 2016, Conformity, 2017, Brainwashing, 2018, Warnung, 2019, Dein Kampf, 2019, Censorship, 2020, Post-truth society, 2020 and in 2021: Political Pandemic, New World Order, The Great Reset, Angel Vaccine, Aryan Corona Passport, Cytokine Storm, Back from never been away .

The earliest pieces of electronic music used recorded sounds that were then electronically altered to create sonic collages. This style, called musique concrete, was developed in Paris in 1948 by Pierre Schaeffer. The invention of the tape recorder in the late 1940s gave composers new means for modifying recorded sounds, including splicing (cutting the tape to create new juxtapositions of sound), speed variation (which changes the pitch of the recorded sound), and mixing (which allowed two or more different recordings to be played back at the same time).
Ancoats, Manchester
A first proper outing with me ol’ mucker – Eddie ‘Rainman’ Coulson of 2021 and the chance to post something not from the last decade. We’ve both been dabbling in Etsy in recent months and decided to go and shoot some of Manchester’s historic landmarks with the view to printing some of them. I must confess I’ve never been to this part of town and initially made straight for Anita Street, which has an interesting history going back to the Industrial Revolution, but I’ll write about that in another posting. Sankey’s is further afield and quite a well-known landmark, but if you didn’t know where it was you could spend hours walking around this part of town and never spot it.
Luckily, Eddie knows the area well and pointed me in the right direction. The weather on Friday was glorious and sunny, but not a cloud in sight, so you’ll have to forgive me with this subtle replacement sky. So good to be out and about again and shooting some new material.
It has quite an history as a nightclub… here’s a condensed summary
Sankeys first opened in Manchester as "Sankeys Soap" in June 1994. It was so called due to its residence inside Beehive Mill, Ancoats, which once was used to manufacture soap. The basement of the mill was transformed into a club and live music venue by Andy Spiro and Rupert Campell. After nearly going bankrupt only six months after opening, the venue managed to keep thriving. However, in 1998, due to financial problems, Sankeys Soap closed its doors to the public.
In 2000, the club was revived by business partners David Vincent and Sacha Lord-Marchionne. This time the club was more successful than before, tackling the problems that had crippled its previous owners. In 2006, the club was forced to close once more, much to the dismay of clubbers. David Vincent announced that this time Sankeys Soap would be closed for good.
Later that summer, it was announced that the club was to re-open under the shorter name Sankeys. It would be under the direction of David Vincent who invited Andy Spiro to get involved once again. During its closure the club underwent a major refit involving a brand new LED lighting system and featured the "hatongue" who took over from the legendary "Mad Graham" after the PAR cans were removed. The main DJ booth was also replaced by a new circular box.
In 2009, owing to the success of the new club, 15 further changes were made to celebrate 15 years of the Sankeys dynasty. These included dynamic ceiling lighting in the Spektrum (the upstairs part of the club) as well as a beach constructed with 50 tonnes of Bahamas Sand and the introduction of a state-of-the-art barcoded entry system. In 2010, Sankeys was voted the number one club in the world in a DJ Mag reader poll.
Following the success of 2010, David Vincent announced plans to create "Seven Sankeys" of the World in the seven cities that inspired the original Sankeys.
The music policy at Sankeys was varied but focused on underground electronic music, mainly House & Techno. The club also hosted one-off nights from outside promoters.
Resident DJs over the years included Greg Vickers, Bushwacka!, Jozef K, Darius Syrossian, Ellesse, Ryan Croft, Adam Chappell, OD Muzique, Pete Zorba, and Luke Welsh.
On 11 April 2013, Sankeys announced they would be closing the doors again on 6 May 2013.
On 12 November 2013, Sankeys announced on their Ibiza Twitter feed that they would be re-opening Manchester in January 2014.
On 12 January 2017, Sankeys announced that they were permanently closing with immediate effect, after the building they occupied had been sold to be turned into apartments.
