This album contains photos from the 2016 study abroad trip to Jamaica with education students from Augusta University.
Nestled on top of the picturesque hill of Smokeyvale, St. Andrew is a secret hideaway with beautiful homes used to house students, volunteers and interns. See breathtaking sceneries of the Blue Mountains to the East and a spectacular view of Kingston to the west. This community is a visual feast of ferns, flora and fauna. Everywhere you turn, there will be towering fruit trees, cool breeze and panoramic mountains. Education majors will work one-on-one or in small groups to tutor children of varying levels of educational and physical ability. Participants will visit a local school and university to learn about the educational system in Jamaica.

Dr. Jill Perry, executive director of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate, opened with a presentation about the importance of the work that educators and education researchers do, and urged the audience members to continue to bring critical thought to the profession.
The Kids University interactive camp at Augusta University allows students to work on actual real-world situations that affect the local community. Each week, students will participate in a different focus area while embedding all aspects of science, math, technology, and engineering with fine arts to create actual products.
