A few of the millions of tulips seen at Veldheer Tulip Farm in Holland, Michigan. Its an amazing place and well worth the trip. Don't forget to pick up some klompen!
Historic towns, picturesque villages, a rural environment abounding with water, dunes and beaches: those are the typical ingredients of the Southern tour. And let’s not forget the eighteen breathtaking mills in Kinderdijk.
These wooden shoes may look cool but you won't see me walk a mile on it, let alone dance. We've watched a group of dutch dancers though (well, not necessarily dutch I suppose but they were in folk costumes) swinging and kicking to the folk tunes played on a street organ. We were forewarned that flying wooden shoes are the norm so we should be on the lookout. Lo and behold... we did find one flying off a male dancer and landing with a splash on the nearby pond. These should be considered as deadly weapon.
