Die Sonne war bereits untergegangen, als am Tag des Sommeranfangs 2015 ein 423 aus Markt Schwaben heraus seinem Fahrtziel Erding entgegenfuhr.
Boulevard of ghosts presents the image from the collection "Stills", group of cinematic still photograph of existent and non existent movies. This particular image is from non existent one called "Duster" but you never know what tomorrow might bring.View large in lightbox please.
The Falkland Steamer Duck (Tachyeres brachypterus) is a flightless duck that is endemic to the Falkland Islands. They are called Steamer Ducks because they paddle across the water surface using their wings in the manner of a paddle-steamer. Charles Darwin described this movement much better in his Voyage of the Beagle (1833) " These birds were in former days called, from their extraordinary manner of paddling and splashing upon the water, race-horses; but now they are named, much more appropriately, steamers. Their wings are too small and weak to allow of flight, but by their aid, partly swimming and partly flapping the surface of the water, they move very quickly". They also seem to be very pugnacious birds, often showing aggression and using their wings as weapons. Those orange studs at the elbow seemed to be used like "knuckle-dusters" during fights. This individual was aggressively approaching another Steamer Duck when I took the picture. This was taken on Carcass Island in the Falklands.
I couldn’t necessarily title this as ‘Gold Duster’ because that was a specific package of the Duster.
The Duster was a variation of Plymouth’s compact Valiant with which it shared front end sheetmetal back to the cowl. The most interesting ones (in my opinion) were the ones offered then with the 340 cid V8 engine.
I don’t know what’s in this one. The photo was taken through an opening in a chain link fence. The wheels and tires suggest something potent. Through the spokes of the front wheel, the brake disc appears to be drilled.
At the back end of the side stripe, we can see a ghost image of what seems to have indicated ‘440.’ However, I don’t believe this car was offered with the MoPar 440 cubic inch V8 engine that was available in their larger models.
Interestingly rejected by an administrator for a group to show photos of coupes!

(I've converted the image to black & white within the Flickr Editor - and just realised that it's added some unwanted artifacts and a slight posterised effect. Won't do that again.
I'm now thinking that I should have done the conversion in LR).
A rather vivid coloured feather than originated from a feather duster.

It's not every day a crop duster crashes into a field because he ran out of fuel ... so when it happens, you go take pictures of the aftermath..... This was in a small town in Northern Nebraska

I love the buttons of this coat! The whole inspiration for this piece started with the buttons actually. I wanted to make something that used them and this is the result.

A nice blue Duster from 1972, this one is actually powered by the 225 ci Slant 6 engine, same engine that powered the Valiant, which the Duster was based on :)
