Only written in German, though, because the writer works in our building. Taken because I rather like the differences between British dustjackets and those from other countries put onto translations.
From our Château Cramirat collection, we proudly present these beautiful book covers by American designer Alvin Lustig for the New Classics series by New Directions.
.
Materials: Cardstock; orange silk cord & tassel
Location: Nobel prize winning author Alice Munro's "New Selected Stories", set in at the story, 'The Children Stay', a story that brought to mind so much from my childhood on Vancouver Island where the story is set.
Details: This beautiful first nations designed bookmark captures rays of the sun, depicted as three separate eagle-like marks, in the grinning, large-eyed style of West Coast indigenous art. The colour is dominated by orange but includes yellow, red, green and blue. It fits perfectly to the content of the story in Munro's book and to the orange that's incorporated into the lettering on the dustjacket.
180 pages in, and it’s only publication day. My local bookshop got my preorder in early and Lett me collect it.
Took the dustjacket off because it’s fiddly to hold.
