... It's very hot the past few days in the Netherlands, so for lots of dogs that means swimtime. Drift goes swimming the whole year, in winter too. He's like an all-terraine dog, got an all-weather coat and his engine goes in full gear, and he's loving it :) ...

The last time SW England had a decent snow covering I sadly missed it by being away at University. This week, after 10 years of waiting I finally was able to see it. This is the only time that Porlock Weir has been totally deserted with not even a solitary dog walker and i had it all to myself because of the blizzard - not that I'm complaining! It's been a gruelling week photography wise with the harshest conditions and many locations. This is the first in the series... Wishing all friends and followers a happy week ahead.

A canoe is a lightweight narrow water vessel, typically pointed at both ends and open on top, propelled by one or more seated or kneeling paddlers facing the direction of travel and using a single-bladed paddle.

Canoes were developed by cultures all over the world, including some designed for use with sails or outriggers.
