A finely-tuned Magnolia Radar went off as I was driving. I hurriedly u-turned to discover a massive, hidden treasure trove of magnolia trees and...more importantly...some gorgeous magnolias happily blossoming away on those trees.
Upon such a serendipitous magnolia encounter in a quiet little spot I've registered in my overall vision but not looked at through my (patented) Magnolia Filters until today, I might have heard a harp pealing and some fireworks going off too. But it's possible (although not likely) that those sounds of excitement might have been my imagination.
Score.
I glazed 4 large pots, and one more little test tile yesterday. It was like painting, 4 paintings that one can't see the color or texture of until after the fire. This time I didn't take any photos, raw glaze is just ugly pastel chemicals, I tend to look at those shots, and think for those who don't know what it is, I guess that's a before after shot, but for me seems not interesting after the 1st couple examples, (nothing compared to raw clay, I love the raw clay).
If you have read this far, you may have noticed this doodle has nothing to do with ceramic art really. I doodled this during the Boston v. LA NBA finals. What a battle! Once again the foul shots were tilted towards LA, and Boston played dirty enough so one didn't blame the reffs. I've not seen a game where so many were rolling on the floor fighting over the ball, it was a rough game.
Once again, not talking about this doodle. Guess it wasn't my art thought of yesterday, the glazing was, and it is just a place holder for another day, me hiding behind my art from the world.
Maria annunciata by Antonello da Messina. He is said to be the first italian to use oil paint. He is one of the few italian painters coming from the south (Messina is on Sicily). One of the greates portaitists EWWWER.

Blind Contour Line Drawing
I was at my friends place in the countryside and cause of too much talking & eating and stuff, I did just some little bit of almost unmotivating sketching of that apples & pears and a small "re-mix" idea of the "Big apple". At least I did some drawing.
42x60 cm (I haven't a clue what the material is called in English, it's like charcoal, but then waxy... anyone?)
This is a continuation of a drawing I started a week or so ago. It's approximately 9"x14" in size and I'm finding that it is kind of labor intensive...as in I feel like I'm coloring in a coloring book page. Not sure where it's going next... For those of you that might not know...I am "trying" to participate in a drawing every day challenge via twitter. If you search the hashtag #draw365 on twitter you will find lots of other people participating in the same thing. I'm kinda bad about doing it every day though...but it's still fun.
