Confession: I will screw up the perspective on a "from life" drawing if there's something I simply don't feel like drawing.
No matter how much I tell myself it's "artist's sight," and not "cheating," it still feels like I'm doing something that is wrong. Since I never went to art school, I don't know where this feeling came from. Part of my self-education will be continuing practice at silencing my inner art school professor. Nothing here is "wrong." It just...is.

Blind contour line drawing of my childhood stocking #3 - favorite of the night - past and present. I had looked through Twitter and gotten lots of inspiration, but I planned on drawing the warm roaring fireplace, the fireplace surround, and the stockings. Guess who got fixated on her childhood stocking? :)

I added the Cadmium Red Light to this one and it took off from there. I like how the red allows just a few of the hatchmarks to show through in certain parts, like it's proud of the positive changes it made but hasn't forgotten it's history.
