Barrett-Jackson: This custom 1964 Chevrolet Impala is powered by an LS fuel-injected engine, extensively hand-engraved along with the radiator, brake and power-steering hardware, A-arms, rims, dash, moldings, handles, trim, bumpers, custom ragtop trim and hydraulic pumps. Power is sent through a 4-speed automatic transmission. This 15-year build involved over 500 man-hours of engraving before professional reassembly. Finished in Pure White with a matching white interior, the exterior features metallic flake pinstriping, ceramic coating and functional custom suicide doors. Equipped with a hydraulic suspension capable of front, back, side-to-side and pancake action with no three-wheel motion. Features include chrome four-wheel brakes, chrome rear end, wishbone suspension, lower A-arms, chrome-skinned gas tank, Vintage Air climate-control system and Dakota Digital dashboard. The custom interior hosts dual amplifiers, JL W3 subwoofers, 14 speakers, Bluetooth connectivity and custom blue accent lighting throughout the cabin, engine bay and grille. This car was First Place winner at the Houston Lowrider Show, with the trophy included in the sale.

Barrett-Jackson: This 1948 Chrysler Town & Country is a restored and well-preserved example that retains most of its original wood. The year 1948 represented the end of an era for Chrysler Woody production. The true wood-body construction with white ash framing and genuine mahogany veneer panels was replaced in 1949 by ash pieces applied over an all-steel body with Dinoc inserts or body-color painted panels. Built in Detroit on the Windsor chassis with a 251ci inline 6-cylinder engine and a Fluid Drive 3-speed manual transmission, the Town & Country sedan utilized an independent front suspension with live rear axle and leaf springs and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. According to the serial number, this example was the 28th Town & Country sedan manufactured in 1948 from a total production of 1,176. Sold new to a Philip S. Daniels of Reading, PA, according to a copy of the original title from 1948, the Town & Country was later acquired by its second owner in Fort Worth, TX. It was said that gentleman owned the car for many years before selling it locally to Wayne Davis, a well-known Dallas/Fort Worth collector. Davis maintained and kept the car for some time before it joined a significant private collection in Colorado in 2008. It was purchased by the current owner in 2021, who is just its fifth owner from new. Featuring a correct older restoration utilizing most all of the original wood, this example is finished in its desirable correct Pacific Green Metallic over a tartan and leather-trimmed Highlander interior. This Town & Country is well-equipped, featuring a roof-mounted luggage rack with wood skid rails, driver’s-side spotlight, fog lamps, sun visors, Comfort Master heater, factory radio and clock, center bumper guard and whitewall tires.

Opening week (weekend) for the Oregon Symphony's season. We went to hear some fabulous music. On the docket was "Night on Bald Mountain", Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.5 and Pictures at an Exhibition. Pictures was my favorite and I knew that going into it, but listening to them play was absolutely inspiring :) Yeah, I'm off to go practice now.
