Tried some geometric abstracts yesterday, and a few of them turned out interesting enough to share.

A CP one unit wonder rolls by Division Street as seen from Indian Mounds Park. After a couple of days of rain it was nice to get a break in the weather and a morning filled with sunshine.

A EB Train off the Omaha Line has stopped at Missouri Division Jct on October 22 1974. Today there is only track here for the IAIS and the track to the Golden State Main is now the interchange track between the IAIS and CP. Gary Powell photo from my collection.
Mechanical issues on an Amtrak loco led to Keolis lending a hand with the newest heritage unit, the Cranberry #1129. It tied onto the front of Amtrak 695 at Boston for the trip to Maine. Here they are arriving Portland station on the Mountain Branch in a brief cloud opening with sun, before shoving back west to the main to finish the trip to Brunswick. GP38-3 #740 is also seen tied down on one of the layover tracks, waiting for its next assignment.

The loving creak
Of floorboards by the door
Hopeful I waited, hopeful I called
But no one would answer at all

An interesting scene panned out at Division Street in Saint Paul. The foreground train is a Union Pacific train that attempted and stalled trying to make the grade between Division Street and Westminster. Two GE motors on each end did not result in initial success. It occupied the track space for over and hour before finally backing into the Hoffman Yard. Meanwhile, a Canadian Pacific potash train passes on the adjacent mainline.
Lupines were in abundance this year due to heavier-than-normal rainfall. This left plenty of snow on the mountains. A golden hour image with lupine and snow-covered mountains was wortth the trip! Belated mother's day wishes to the moms which visit!
