As part of The National Food Distribution Taskforce, Prime Minister, Most Hon. Hubert Minnis visited the Bahamas Red Cross on Friday, November 13, 2020, completing site visits to New Providence-based NGOs working directly with the Government feeding initiative.
Prime Minister Minnis had the opportunity to meet the many arms and legs that keep the National Society moving forward as well as learn more about the programs and work of the Red Cross. He also took part in the packaging of food parcels and received first-hand demonstrations from the Packing Team.
Through the distribution of food parcels and vouchers, the Task Force continues to feed thousands of families each week that have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Minnis thanked the Bahamas Red Cross and its volunteers who have been working with the Government since June 1, 2020, to provide emergency food assistance to those in need.
“Thank you for everything that you are doing to help provide food assistance to those in need throughout The Bahamas,” said the Prime Minister. “I commend you for your contribution. This is one of the largest ever public/private social care initiatives in the history of our country.”
As Phase 2 of The National Food Taskforce is well underway, The Bahamas Red Cross remains committed to assisting those most vulnerable in our communities.

Assertion: Normal distribution is a probability model that helps describe data. When plotted, the data takes the shape of a symmetrical bell-shaped curve that visually demonstrates concepts of frequency and standard deviation in a statistical set. This concept was coined by a gambling consultant called de Moivre, but has been a central statistical concept for probability modeling since then.
Evidence: The subject of this photograph is called a Galton board and it demonstrates the normal distribution of binomial variables within a set. One can see the outline of the symmetrical bell curve over a set of ball bearings that have been dropped through a series of pegs with two main path options originating at the top.
Commentary: This is the LEAST boring image I could find for normal distribution.
