Theme 'Naturally Black & White' - My 25th shot of 2014 for this 52 week group.
(Exhibition FIX Photo Festival 2017 London)
----------------------------
Palmer Street off Victoria Street Westminster SW1H.
When you look up on a bright day this is what you get, it is naturally black and white I have not altered the colours. This set of buildings are black anyway which helps and they are very tight together so you stand in complete shade.
But quite often this is what I want to achieve anyway, as you know I'm a big contrast fan............
And yes I know another plane but this will be the last for a while, I think I've proved my point to myself....

To be perfectly honest, I like well-shaped bodies in bikinis just like the next guy. And I rarely give adverts that promote surreal body images a second thought. They're everywhere. But when a company named "Protein World" is called out for their shitty ad and responds like THIS, well...
Fuck them and their stupid products.
Here's more:
This was taken at the northwest corner of Theodore Roosevelt Park, which adjoins the Museum of Natural History, on Central Park West between 78th and 81st streets. I entered this little park at Columbus and 81st Street, in hopes of finding some interesting people and things to photograph...
This guy was relaxing on a bench at the south end of the park, completely oblivious to everything going on around him...

**********************
This is part of an evolving photo-project, which will probably continue throughout the summer of 2008, and perhaps beyond: a random collection of "interesting" people in a broad stretch of the Upper West Side of Manhattan -- between 72nd Street and 104th Street, especially along Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.
I don't like to intrude on people's privacy, so I normally use a telephoto lens in order to photograph them while they're still 50-100 feet away from me; but that means I have to continue focusing my attention on the people and activities half a block away, rather than on what's right in front of me.
I've also learned that, in many cases, the opportunities for an interesting picture are very fleeting -- literally a matter of a couple of seconds, before the person(s) in question move on, turn away, or stop doing whatever was interesting. So I've learned to keep the camera switched on (which contradicts my traditional urge to conserve battery power), and not worry so much about zooming in for a perfectly-framed picture ... after all, once the digital image is uploaded to my computer, it's pretty trivial to crop out the parts unrelated to the main subject.
For the most part, I've deliberately avoided photographing bums, drunks, drunks, and crazy people. There are a few of them around, and they would certainly create some dramatic pictures; but they generally don't want to be photographed, and I don't want to feel like I'm taking advantage of them. I'm still looking for opportunities to take some "sympathetic" pictures of such people, which might inspire others to reach out and help them. We'll see how it goes ...
The only other thing I've noticed, thus far, is that while there are lots of interesting people to photograph, there are far, far, *far* more people who are *not* so interesting. They're probably fine people, and they might even be more interesting than the ones I've photographed ... but there was just nothing memorable about them.

Ever since I saw this article ( distractify.com/culture/arts/frozen-bubbles-in-wintertime/ ) I wanted to try taking photos of frozen bubbles too... It's so windy I couldn't get much to freeze (it also might not be quite cold enough to freeze quickly, with it being a balmy 23 degree F). But here's what I got -- a pair of bubbles, one slightly bigger than a #2 pencil eraser and one much smaller!

I learned: keep room for improvisation, listen to the people who you are working with and trust your gut.
I had an inspiration from a portrait of Sigourney Weaver dressed in a mens suit and where she has her shadow cast on the wall. I liked the contrast and the image sticked with me for a quite some time.
When I was planning remake of the photo I wanted to make my version of it to have a really feminine shadow but have the clothes to give a hint of the Sigourney's portrait without being too obvious.
On the day of the shoot I only prepped my model Linda by telling her that I want to cast a feminine shadow of her on the wall. She asked if she could wear a dress she had just bought herself to compliment the shadow. I saw the dress and agreed.
As you can hopefully see together we created something totally different what I had in my mind.
Image is telling another story but it gave me a good lesson about creative process and working as a team with the model within it. Together we fine tuned the pose to tell the story we now wanted to tell and the shadow is now complimenting the model not the other way around.

Trong đó, McDermott đã nói rằng “We need to kill all men - Chúng ta cần phải giết tất cả đàn ông” và “male babies - trẻ sơ sinh nam”.
