Took a quickie trip to Moss Landing for lunch today... I needed my Dungeness fix, and could not pass up any photo ops either... lol
If you are in the area this place is not to be missed

Beautiful by day, absolutely gorgeous by night.
I am surprised this turned out so well, as it is a hand-held shot. I am not great at night photography to begin with, even less so after having a "bit" of wine...lol
Was a warm, balmy night, we met a couple there, she took a shot of him in front of the fountain, I offered to take one of both of them, but no more room on their memory card...so we got their email address and I took a shot of the two of them, and sent it to them when we got back home. It is a wonderful memory.
Yes, I threw in my coin and made my wish to return to Rome someday
Dall Sheep Facts: The Dall sheep (originally Dall's sheep), Ovis dalli, is a species of sheep native to northwestern North America, ranging from white to slate brown in color and having curved yellowish brown horns. Its closest relative is the more southern subspecies, Stone sheep (Ovis dalli stonei), which is a slaty brown with some white patches on the rump and inside the hind legs.
Dall sheep inhabit the subarctic mountain ranges of Alaska, the Yukon Territory, the Mackenzie Mountains in the western Northwest Territories, and northern British Columbia. They are found in relatively dry country and try to stay in a special combination of open alpine ridges, meadows, and steep slopes with extremely rugged ground in the immediate vicinity, to allow escape from predators that cannot travel quickly through such terrain.
Male Dall sheep have thick curling horns. The females have shorter, more slender, slightly curved horns. Males live in bands which seldom associate with female groups except during the mating season in late November and early December. Lambs are born in May.

It won't be long now before they're gone for the year! I adore this shot of a Rufous hummer who seemed to be trying to intimidate some of the other hummers at the feeder.
The cool blue background is my neighbor's out-of-focus blue metal roof!
Thanks so much for all your kind comments. I have learned so much from being a member of the Flickr community...mostly that there sure are lots of really nice people out there!
The leaves are all gone now, thanks to our recent storms. Nothing but bare trees to look at for the next few months. Sure was beautiful while it lasted though...
Happy Thanksgiving!!
This was captured in 2007 during my visit to Montgomery, Alabama.
I just completed One Autumn Many Moments, a video that I posted on Facebook. Would you please join me in viewing it. It is a gallery of autumn scenes with beautiful guitar music. Thank you!!
Tried out doing an actual portrait and all that shiz. Tried to see how I do. I'm pretty happy with my first try,
"There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is! "~DeGriff

A tranquil moment unfolds as a delicate bird finds solace in the beauty that exists when we allow serenity to land upon our lives
Fountain Square hosted "Masterpiece in a Day".
Contestants had 6 hours to produce a piece of art.
These legs were found at Imbibe, a local drinking establishment inside the Fountain Square Theatre Building, built in 1923. The building also houses a vintage Duckpin Bowling Lane and a rooftop restaurant.
More on the building can be found here www.fountainsquareindy.com/

Made in PSE with the help of Printmaster. I don't trust Printmaster solely, anymore.
It's for the Diary '09 project. I'm rather fond of it, now that it's done. Lots of work...lots.
lara Grey has always been enchanted by the world beyond her small coastal town. From a young age, she spent hours poring over atlases and spinning globes, tracing the outlines of countries she vowed to visit one day. Her eyes, a striking shade of blue, mirrored the distant horizons she yearned to explore.
Raised by her grandfather, a retired sea captain, Elara grew up listening to tales of the vast oceans, majestic mountains, and bustling cities that dotted the landscapes he had sailed. These stories filled her with a relentless desire to see the world for herself, to experience its wonders firsthand.
As she grew older, Elara turned her passion into purpose. She pursued studies in cultural anthropology, driven by a deep-seated curiosity about the people and traditions that shaped each corner of the globe. Her studies weren't just academic; they were a roadmap to the adventures she planned. With each course completed, her dreams grew more vivid, her plans more concrete.
Finally, after years of preparation, Elara set out on her journey, armed with nothing but a backpack, her camera, and an unquenchable thirst for discovery. She traveled not as a tourist, but as a student of the world, engaging deeply with the locals, participating in their customs, and capturing each moment with her keen photographic eye.
Her travels took her from the cobblestone streets of Paris to the jungles of the Amazon, from the snowy peaks of the Himalayas to the vibrant markets of Marrakech. Each destination was a new chapter in her ever-growing storybook of experiences. Yet, it was the quiet moments—watching a sunrise over Angkor Wat, sharing a meal with a family in Istanbul, dancing under the stars in a Zambian village—that truly transformed her.
Elara's journey was more than a quest for beauty; it was a search for meaning in the tapestry of human existence. Through her eyes, the world was a mosaic of stories waiting to be told, lessons waiting to be learned, and connections waiting to be made. And with each step, each snapshot, she not only discovered the world but also discovered herself.
Now, as she continues her travels, Elara shares her experiences through a blog that inspires others to embark on their own adventures. Her narrative is a testament to the power of curiosity and the enduring allure of the unknown. Elara Grey's compass points ever onward, her heart beating in rhythm with the world.
Bathed in the dusk's last amber light,
A priestess of stars, a vision of night.
Her crown a crest of the cosmic sea,
Eyes holding secrets of the galaxy.
Silken locks, a cascade of purest gold,
Billowing softly, stories untold.
Her gown, a fabric spun from the sky,
Embellished with stardust, a celestial tie.
Lights dance upon her like twilight's choir,
Gems that whisper of the moon's desire.
She turns, a silhouette 'gainst the setting sun,
A being where the ethereal and earth are one.
Shoulders graced with the gentle kiss of eve,
In her presence, even the stars believe.
She is the twilight, the soft divide,
Where day and night in beauty confide.
Step into this moment, where the skies converge,
In her gaze, let your earthly troubles submerge.
She is the luminance as day takes flight,
A serene sovereign in the arms of night.
In this portrait, may you find a tranquil peace,
As the twilight priestess offers a gentle release.
A pause in time, under her luminous watch,
An artwork that the heavens themselves did etch.
In the tender embrace of the waning light,
She stands at the threshold of day and night.
Her gown, a cascade of sunset's own lace,
Catches the colors of the sun's soft chase.
The wind plays with her golden hair,
A dance with the breeze, an evening's affair.
Her silhouette against the glowing tide,
A portrait of peace, where calm resides.
The river, a mirror of the sky's mood,
Reflects the sun's descent, a golden flood.
The mountains whisper in hushed tones too,
As if they share this moment with you.
She gazes at the horizon's fiery line,
Where the dreams of day and night entwine.
In her stance, a story untold,
Of silent thoughts and reflections bold.
The sky's canvas, a masterpiece of light,
Bids the sun farewell, welcomes the night.
In this painting of time, she is the muse,
A vision of grace, the artist's ruse.
May her peace find a way to your heart,
As the day ends and the night starts.
For in this moment, under the sun's last light,
We all share her whispers with the coming night.
