Feel the heft of the fork
Feel the earth's crumble
Bend and dig; shake off
The soil from the wèeds;
Like you I can dig too
Shifting out the big stones
Foot pressing on fork
Levering and lifting
Doing what I watched
You do in garden or
Allotment - inherited
Digging action returning.
