Unable to squeeze in between the wall of photographers and tripods at Mesa Arch, I moved to the end of the arch to capture the sunrise there. Mesa Arch is on the left of the shot. Although I didn't get the glow that you get under the arch it was still pretty spectacular.

So nipped out earlier to have a look.. Apart from it being the coldest day so far on Himmy.. Brr..

It was so cool seeing them overflowing again and hearing them roar too!!

Southstack Lighthouse from across the bay, I couldn't get on the car park! A first for me usually you can go there and park then have a lovely walk round, nice to get the photo from a different place though and the sky was lovely.

This photo was taken in Monterey Aquarium, Monterey, CA, USA. It was taken outside of a big fish tank, taken through its 1 inch thick plexiglass wall and probably through and additional 6 to 8 inches of sea water. This anemone was about 6 inches in diameter at the top.

An off camera flash unit, Minolta 5600 HS(D) was used. Because this is a macro shot, and the flash head is about 3 inches wide, no additional light diffuser was necessary for a soft light illumination. As can be seen in the photo, there was no harsh shadows!

This old guy showed up the other day when I was cleaning out a birdbath. Then he showed up later when I was putting out mealworms. Guess he just wanted to see what I was up to.

Fortunately, he hung around while I raced for my camera. This perch is not as close as I'd like when trying to get dragonfly shots, but considering they are not regular visitors sometimes you have to take what you can get.

Was surprised to see how tattered those wings look. Guess he's been around the block a few times. LOL!
