My first ever attempt at sculpting a real figure. I made the mistake of using fondant (vs gumpaste or modeling chocolate), but not a bad first effort.

It isn't often that a destructive wildfire comes so close to threatening your home and livelihood, but today, was one of those days.
Earlier this afternoon, I awoke from a mid-afternoon nap to the sound of a loud helicopter flying unusually low over the house. It woke me to the point where I couldn't go back to sleep, so I checked Facebook, only to see a post from my next door neighbor alerting us to the smell of smoke and a very large cloud behind the house.
Right away, I soon discovered that a large fire erupted less than two miles away, and placed all of Lake Limerick under an evacuation advisory. Thankfully, we were not evacuated, but almost a thousand Sheltonians have been.
I began taking these about an hour after the fire began, with the last photo taken approximately seven hours later. It is presently estimated at nearly 300 acres, with 0% containment.
Let's keep all those affected in our thoughts tonight.

Alcoholism
Alcohol is a most destructive substance that was created by the mixture of several chemical compounds, for man ot fulfil a sense of pleasure on his own. Such a liquor transforms our blood into toxic cells in due course of time.
We see how a man’s energy gets depleted and he becomes worn out when he drinks liquor. Likewise, even the cells that are functioning normally so far become powerless in due course of time.
The brain of the liquor addict soon loses its vigour.The blood inflow into the brain gets decreased by and by, and a situation of stunned and stunted brain activity becomes the outcome. The thinking power gets get depleted and becomes worn out. Gradually , the organs also reach dysfunction.
The brain cells of the alcoholics lose their thinking capacity after a lapse of time. They diminish in their efficiency. The blood circulation to the brain also decreases. Eventually,the brain loses its efficiency so much , that a situation is created when it stops to function.
Even if the alcoholics stop taking alcohol, the toxins created in their blood do keep increasing due to their past intake of the same. Likes beget likes. So, they keep increasing and damage the organ of the body, thereby making the humane emotions get stunned and stunted, ultimately making the individual a poisoned soul.
The organ of the body of the liquor addict get into malfunction and dysfunction more speedily than those of non-alcoholic(teetotaller). The natural immunity power of the alcoholic takes a beating, which in fact becomes a fit breeding ground for diseases to occupy the body. This is the making of the individual’s own self-will.
The liquor addicts make way for their blood-circulation to become toxic to make their emotions to become poison-filled.The toxins not only get passed onto their next generation, but also to their subsequent generation. It becomes a genetic blue-print.
The toxic impulses permeating their blood cells and their mental tendencies becomes their DNA. It diminishes the mental sharpness of their children. They becomes children who have limited thinking efficiency. This is a very vital point for us to consider.
There are towns and countries that consume higher quantities of alcohol in the world. They are known to be less efficient and less brilliant. They become subservient to other dominant towns and countries. We all should understand that this circumstance will disable any prosperity. This will make the liquor drinking population into a non-entity in the future.

Hagalaz represents the real natural destructive forces of the universe. The north and south polarity in a magnet are an example of unification of opposites.
To our very distant ancestors in the Northern Hemisphere, the real fear was fire and ice. Fire and ice are complete opposites and each one can be devastating to crop, people and their environment. This Rune represents the balance and unification of opposites.
The changing of the seasons is also an example of hot and cold or fire and ice. Too cold or too hot at the wrong time of planting destroyed crops, affected the people and their environment. The ice age forced migration and cooler climates. When the ice age ended, the face of continents and climates were changed. Deserts now exist where there were once great forests and abundance. This tells us that thee is constant and continual change for better or worse.
Drawing this Rune can represent the reality of life. All living things grow, bear some kind of spore, seed, fruit or root division so they can die and live again. The opposites of life and death we all must face represent the ultimate balance.
