This building with the Florentine loggia is the former palais urbain built for Ignaz Graf von Törring-Jettenbach and also a former post office.
Originally built 1747 to 1754 in Rococo style for the above mentioned count Törring-Jettenbach, it was modified many times.
1835 to 1838 the Florentine loggia was added while at about the same time the building was made the main post office.
Mostly destroyed in World War II, the interior was not reconstructed. After the post office moved out in 2009 all not listed parts of the building were demolished, only the loggia with its arcades remained. Now there is upscale shopping and a café.

Interior of the Salvatorkirche (Church of the Savior), a Greek Orthodox church with a slightly convoluted history:
Built in late Gothic style in 1493 as a cemetery church for the relocated cemetery of the Frauenkirche.
With the secularization in 1803 it should be destroyed, but it was used as important storage, so destruction was avoided.
In 1806 it was gifted to the Lutheran community in Munich, but due to continued usage as depot the Lutheran community could not use it. With the decision to build the Lutheran St. Matthäus church in 1825 the Lutherans returned St. Salvator to the crown.
In 1828 King Ludwig I of Bavaria gave it to the Greek Orthodox community for use, but the church building remained property of the state.
After this it remained Greek Orthodox and was renovated multiple times, most recently some interior refurbishing happened in 2022.

The church that stands today was completed in 1717. This church was built on the rubble of the 1625 church destroyed in the Pueblo Indian Revolt.

The Aegidien Church in Hannover (Germany) build 14th century. In II World War 1943 destroyed in the Allied air raid.
Le Château Ollwiller est l’un des deux seuls châteaux en Alsace à produire du vin sous la dénomination « château ».
Il possède le « Clos de la Tourelle », une parcelle agrémentée d’une ancienne tourelle, entièrement plantée avec le cépage pinot blanc.
Le château est à l’origine du nom du Grand Cru Ollwiller.
Son vignoble compte une parcelle de riesling dans le Grand Cru Ollwiller plantée en 1925, bénéficiant de la mention "Vieilles Vigne".
La construction du premier Château Ollwiller en alsace , remonte au XIIIe siècle par les comtes de Waldner sur un fief agricole et viticole appartenant aux comtes de Ferrette et dont le souverain était l’évêque de Strasbourg puis de l’abbaye cistercienne de Lieu-Croissant (Doubs).
Au XVIIIe, le Comte Dagobert de Waldner de Freundstein, lieutenant général du roi, construisit un superbe château où séjournèrent de nombreux personnages importants de l’époque dont Louis XV.
Le château et le domaine sont acquis en 1825 par Jacques-Gabriel Gros, industriel textile, qui fît du domaine agricole une ferme modèle et un vignoble réputé.
Détruit lors de la première guerre mondiale pendant la bataille du Vieil Armand, le château fut reconstruit en 1925. Le domaine viticole et le château appartiennent toujours à la famille Gros.

Château Ollwiller is one of the only two châteaux in Alsace to produce wine under the name "château".
He owns the "Clos de la Tourelle", a plot decorated with an old turret, entirely planted with the Pinot Blanc grape.
The castle is the origin of the name of the Grand Cru Ollwiller.
Its vineyard has a plot of Riesling in the Grand Cru Ollwiller planted in 1925, with the "Vieilles Vigne" label.
The construction of the first Château Ollwiller in Alsace dates back to the 13th century by the counts of Waldner on an agricultural and wine-growing fiefdom belonging to the counts of Ferrette and whose sovereign was the bishop of Strasbourg and then of the Cistercian abbey of Lieu-Croissant ( Doubs).
In the 18th century, Count Dagobert de Waldner de Freundstein, lieutenant general of the king, built a superb castle where many important figures of the time stayed, including Louis XV.
The château and the estate were acquired in 1825 by Jacques-Gabriel Gros, a textile industrialist, who turned the agricultural estate into a model farm and a renowned vineyard.
Destroyed during the First World War during the Battle of Vieil Armand, the castle was rebuilt in 1925. The wine estate and the castle still belong to the Gros family.
Kurzeme Fortress Museum is a large private collection dedicated to the events of World War II in Kurzeme. The museum is located in the village of Zante, Kandava municipality, which is part of the military history of the Kurzeme Fortress. Exhibit includes items of military history, military machines, restored trenches and bunkers.
The Kurzeme Fortress and Courland Pocket – these are the terms that are most commonly used to describe battles between the German and Red Army in Kurzeme from 1944 to 1945. These engagements or “Grand Battles of Kurzeme” were notable, because the German Army, which was located in a partially isolated territory, managed to withstand multiple large-scale attacks by the Red Army at a time when Berlin had fallen to the Allied Army and Germany had already surrendered. Units of the Latvian Legion were one of the best combat units in Kurzeme. Latvian Legionnaires believed that their fight would help thousands of Latvians to escape the Red Army's crimes against civilians. Even long after the war had ended the land of Kurzeme was riddled with reminders of the battles fought – military cemeteries, destroyed equipment, armaments and trenches.

It’s believed that between the 15th and 18th centuries, Easter Island suffered an overpopulation crisis that caused shortages and conflicts between the 12 island tribes. The obsession of building bigger and bigger moai statues was one of the main causes of deforestation and food scarcity. These problems led to a fall in the belief of the moai’s power and their construction was not only abandoned, but some were even torn down from their ahus.

According to the current theme, group members were supposed to represent an adage in a photo. I chose "You've got to crack a few eggs to make an omelette", which means that if you want to achieve something, you often have to destroy something or make difficult sacrifices. I used an egg cup, a chocolate egg filled with colourful sweets and a teaspoon for the photo.
De acuerdo con el tema propuesto, los miembros del grupo teníamos que representar un dicho en una foto. Escogí aquel que dice que “no se puede hacer tortilla sin romper los huevos”, el cual significa que se tienen que destruir algo o hacer sacrificios difíciles para lograr algo. Para la foto, utilicé una huevera, un huevo de chocolate relleno con dulces coloridos y una cucharilla.

Located in the Ostiense district of Rome, its original appearance underwent a restructuring in period style and the mosaic of its façade was replaced because it was destroyed. Inside you can find a coffered ceiling and eighty columns of granite, also we have some beautiful remnants of the original basilica.

Passed again a week ago (April, 2023) around and is there no more. There was a fire and probably was destroyed or removed when the fire was put out.
The first time this castle was mentioned was in 1260. After that, the castle has been destroyed and restored more than once. The last time it was destroyed was in 1944 (2nd world war). The last restore started in 1946 and ended 37 years later, in 1983.

Located in the altitude fields of the "Serra da Bocaina", the "Casa de Pedra", as it is currently known, was built by Dr. Lassance, a resident doctor from Rio de Janeiro, in the beginning of the 20th century and its apogee in 1914.
Once ready and decorated with the richest imported refinements, the house was not much to the liking of his wife who was not interested in the patrimony.
The abandonment and vandalism were destroying the beautiful building that is now in ruins, and today is only a reminder of the golden days of "Bocaina".

Rattennest Castle
The first mention of Rattennest Castle (then called Groenenborch) dates from 1426. It was almost completely destroyed in 1583.
The wealthy banker family Spinola, originally from Genoa but living in Antwerp, used this enormous estate as a country house. In 1688, a Spinola descendant sold the castle.
On 21 June 1741, the castle 'Groenenborch alias den Rattennest' and the accompanying grounds were sold on the Vrijdagmarkt in Antwerp.
The present building dates from the first half of the 18th century and was restored in 1807.
During and after the Second World War, the estate was severely neglected. It was largely parcelled out in 1948. The castle and part of the original estate remained untouched. Around 1950, the court pond and outer moat were filled in.
In 1981, the castle was protected as a monument.

De eerste vermelding van kasteel Rattennest (toen nog Groenenborch) dateert van 1426. Het werd nagenoeg totaal verwoest in 1583.
De steenrijke bankiersfamilie Spinola, oorspronkelijk uit Genua maar wonend in Antwerpen, gebruikte dit enorme landgoed als buitenverblijf. In 1688 verkocht een nazaat van de Spinola’s het kasteel.
Op 21 juni 1741 werd het kasteel ‘Groenenborch alias den Rattennest’ met de daarbij behorende gronden verkocht op de Vrijdagmarkt in Antwerpen.
Het huidig gebouw dateert uit de eerste helft van de 18de eeuw en werd in 1807 hersteld.
Tijdens en na de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het domein fel verwaarloosd. Het werd grotendeels verkaveld in 1948. Het kasteel en een deel van het oorspronkelijke domein bleef ongerept behouden. Omstreeks 1950 werden de hofvijver en buitengracht gedempt.
In 1981 werd het kasteel beschermd als monument.

The Cathedral of the Epiphany of the Lord (another name is the Epiphany Cathedral) is an Orthodox cathedral in Vyshny Volochyok, Tver Region.

The temple was built of bricks in 1810-1814 on the island between the two branches of the Tsna River on the site of a dilapidated wooden church in the name of the Epiphany with a chapel of the archistrategos Michael.
The cathedral was closed in 1931, but not destroyed. The building was used for warehouse purposes. The temple was reopened in 1945.
