Without my 6 quilled wonders (Lesser Tenrecs) and my photography, I would have often been at a loss with the world we find ourselves in. They have played a fundamental part in how I cope with the stresses and strains of the last few years.
Showing my support towards all people who suffer from ME or who are in pain, physically or mentally. In addition, I hope my little blue Boo makes you smile. x

I took up photography as a release valve, a way to destress, purely for enjoyment.
I still do it for the same reasons, although now, this hobby has given me back so much more in return

Carving Bear...My Sweet Reward
Several years ago, early on a Sunday morning, we left Moose Pass, to make our drive back to Anchorage. About 8 miles
south of Alyeska, hubby and I passed a distressed motorist. It was just at day break with light traffic on the road, so we decided to offer help. The young man was out of gas and unfamiliar with the area. We knew there was a station at Alyeska Ski Resort where he could purchase gas and most likely get a ride back to
his auto. It did take time from our trip, but we always prepare for interruptions. After we left the motorist, I settled back into my seat with camera in hand. At mile marker 100 we saw a grizzly in the highway. As we approached, he darted back into the woods. Slow we edged our way… while checking the woods for our furry friend. First we had a peek and them a full view of this curious bear. He made his way into a wood carver’s lot. We were only able to pull part way as he entertained us about 30 minutes. He chewed on electrical cords, played in the saw dust, tried to get into the port-a-let, and inspected the wooden statues. Has we not stopped to give aid to the young man, we would have missed the “Carving Bear”…my sweet reward!
This is one of my favourite locations in the west highlands of Scotland. When you have had more than enough of the rat race and you need to get back to the land, this is the place to destress yourself and become more peaceful and calm within yourself. Nature, it's good for the soul.

Sometimes the best photograph is the one you try the absolutely least with organizing, posing and editing.
My latest passion is organizng my SL inventory in CTS Wardrobe. Organizing inventory is my way of destressing from the the real world. It's also the best way to go shopping because gawd only knows the stuff I find in my inventory! Like this fluffly soft sweater from Asteria. I swear I have 20 versions of this sweater in RL in all the colors of the rainbow (yet grey is always one of my favorite!). I love pairing my warm sweaters with a cute pair of shorts, perfect look for September. And these denim shorts from Amias are the perfect compliment. And althogh I'm doing most of my shopping from inventory these days, I couldn't pass up on these cute boots/fishnet stockings combo from Breathe, on sale this weekened too!

Final beauty of fall, coming to it's end. Taking backroads home from KHPN, highway lately getting congested, but this drive is alway destressing of days events, also no crazy drivers
Another shift in ED at the hospital. Had to deal with some rather difficult cases so this evening I needed to destress. I headed up to the Bronte Moors and took this, I've always liked the bench on the hill and the foreground heather!
Falmore, Crohy Head, Mullaghmullan Peninsula, County Donegal, Ireland
Many parts of Ireland are surprisingly sparsely populated. Although once you arrive on this little peninsula in west Donegal, all becomes as evident as the nose on your face. It isn’t unusual to find a single cottage surrounded by 10 acres of land or more & there are more cattle on these slopes that there are inhabitants.
I spend so much time photographing them but can only dream that someday I may have a little retreat cottage like this of my very own. Even if only to visit that odd time, when my mind needs to destress & my body needs a rest, away from our current plastic world. Long strolls in muddy boots, cool breezes & turf fires are the only answer ☘️

L’effarouchement hivernal des oiseaux piscivores est incontournable de novembre à fin mars, voire au-delà. Les étangs résonnent des détonations des canons à gaz (« tonne-fort ») générant des conflits entre les usagers, pisciculteurs et chasseurs. Des "carrés noirs", parties apparentes de cages subaquatiques grillagées dans lesquelles vient se réfugier, voire se déstresser le poisson, fleurissent sur les étangs. Les pêcheries se couvrent de filets destinés à évincer les prédateurs (cormorans, ...).

Found this lichen covered oak in a small wood in Dorset on Sunday. Part of the wood is full of these twisty wind bashed trees and appears to have been transported straight from Dartmoor! If I had gotten here 20 minutes sooner it would have had a nice blanket of mist covering it but sadly my knees only allow me to walk at one particular speed lol. I worked the scene as best I could, taking images from various places around the tree but settled on this as the best composition of it as it minimised the content of the sky which was not favourable at that point.
You may have noticed I am adding drone shots to my feed on here. Sadly that is going to stop as I have come to realise that flying a drone, for me at least is very stressful after several incidents in the past week or so (none of which was my fault, just things that happen when flying drones!). My photography, for me is a way to destress and take my mind away from the real world so anything that brings negativity into my passion is quickly removed.
I hope, instead to add a wide angle lens to my armoury once I have sold the drone.
