My exquisite Boo in blue.
Without my 6 quilled wonders (Lesser Tenrecs) and my photography, I would have often been at a loss with the world we find ourselves in. They have played a fundamental part in how I cope with the stresses and strains of the last few years.
Showing my support towards all people who suffer from ME or who are in pain, physically or mentally. In addition, I hope my little blue Boo makes you smile. x

I took up photography as a release valve, a way to destress, purely for enjoyment.
I still do it for the same reasons, although now, this hobby has given me back so much more in return

It's been a hard week for everyone
I remember the troubles here and war is never the answer so my thoughts are with everyone ...
I went out with my friend just to take our minds of everything I have a stress related illness to so I need to destress so it was lovely to go to the Botanic gardens and we came across this beauty sunning itself in the bit of sunshine we managed to get ....🐈💗

Carving Bear...My Sweet Reward
Several years ago, early on a Sunday morning, we left Moose Pass, to make our drive back to Anchorage. About 8 miles
south of Alyeska, hubby and I passed a distressed motorist. It was just at day break with light traffic on the road, so we decided to offer help. The young man was out of gas and unfamiliar with the area. We knew there was a station at Alyeska Ski Resort where he could purchase gas and most likely get a ride back to
his auto. It did take time from our trip, but we always prepare for interruptions. After we left the motorist, I settled back into my seat with camera in hand. At mile marker 100 we saw a grizzly in the highway. As we approached, he darted back into the woods. Slow we edged our way… while checking the woods for our furry friend. First we had a peek and them a full view of this curious bear. He made his way into a wood carver’s lot. We were only able to pull part way as he entertained us about 30 minutes. He chewed on electrical cords, played in the saw dust, tried to get into the port-a-let, and inspected the wooden statues. Has we not stopped to give aid to the young man, we would have missed the “Carving Bear”…my sweet reward!

This is one of my favourite locations in the west highlands of Scotland. When you have had more than enough of the rat race and you need to get back to the land, this is the place to destress yourself and become more peaceful and calm within yourself. Nature, it's good for the soul.

Sometimes the best photograph is the one you try the absolutely least with organizing, posing and editing.
My latest passion is organizng my SL inventory in CTS Wardrobe. Organizing inventory is my way of destressing from the the real world. It's also the best way to go shopping because gawd only knows the stuff I find in my inventory! Like this fluffly soft sweater from Asteria. I swear I have 20 versions of this sweater in RL in all the colors of the rainbow (yet grey is always one of my favorite!). I love pairing my warm sweaters with a cute pair of shorts, perfect look for September. And these denim shorts from Amias are the perfect compliment. And althogh I'm doing most of my shopping from inventory these days, I couldn't pass up on these cute boots/fishnet stockings combo from Breathe, on sale this weekened too!

To destress from my study and work, I take 2 or 3 hours break to walk my neighbourhood park or reserve.
Final beauty of fall, coming to it's end. Taking backroads home from KHPN, highway lately getting congested, but this drive is alway destressing of days events, also no crazy drivers
Falmore, Crohy Head, Mullaghmullan Peninsula, County Donegal, Ireland
Many parts of Ireland are surprisingly sparsely populated. Although once you arrive on this little peninsula in west Donegal, all becomes as evident as the nose on your face. It isn’t unusual to find a single cottage surrounded by 10 acres of land or more & there are more cattle on these slopes that there are inhabitants.
I spend so much time photographing them but can only dream that someday I may have a little retreat cottage like this of my very own. Even if only to visit that odd time, when my mind needs to destress & my body needs a rest, away from our current plastic world. Long strolls in muddy boots, cool breezes & turf fires are the only answer ☘️

Remembrance Day, November 11.
In the civic heart of Deloraine, in the central north of Tasmania, there stands this memorial to the dead soldiers who left this little town for The Great War (1914-1918) and never returned.
There are 404 names on this stone monument. 404 young men dead on the other side of the world, fighting for King and empire. I've mercifully left God out if it, because any God that one has to kill for is not worthy of praise in any manner. This image of God must go because it has cost us far far too many human lives!
[As I type this the national memorial service is underway in Canberra, to the strains of the old hymn, "Oh God our help in ages past." Frankly, it makes me nauseous. Quakers have held from the 17th century that, "we must seek that which is of God in every person". And it follows then that we cannot take the life of one who bears the image of God. This is at the heart of the Quaker Peace Testimony. So members of the Religious Society of Friends have refused to go to war ever since. We will provide medical assistance and aid to the destressed victims of war, and work to rebuild destroyed nations, but we will never go to war to take the life of another human being. www.quaker.org/legacy/minnfm/peace/index.htm]
404 dead young men. Strangely reminiscent of the '404 error' that crops up when a web address no longer exists (purely coincidental of course). The population of Deloraine in 1914 was around 1,800. Half of those at least were males, so you can see that almost half the male population of Deloraine lost their lives in this war. I hope it could never happen today. That's why we remember!
