Cosmic Designs..For Gustav Holst and Claude Debussy, the beauty of Earth and its surrounding planets inspired them not to collect data, but to compose music. Now, 100 years after the first performance of Holst’s “The Planets,” audiences had a chance to hear their music and see depictions of our awe-inspiring solar system simultaneously...On Jan 27 and 28, the National Philharmonic Orchestra, in collaboration with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, presented Cosmic Designs at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD. In this marriage of music and space imagery, the orchestra performed Claude Debussy’s “La Mer” and Gustav Holst’s “The Planets.” Video producers at Goddard worked to collect depictions of our solar system’s planets, as well as Earth’s oceans to accompany the music. This was a wat (temple) that we chanced upon right at the tip of Ko Chang. They started to build it over 10 years ago, but ran out of money, only having finished the beautiful roof properly. Locals volunteer to help out. The monk let us have a look inside. I wish I had taken more shots, but felt it was a little disrespectful. I gave them all the money i had in my wallet that day.
Embroidery design is the art of decorating fabric or other materials with needle and thread, or with a sewing machine. Embroidery is available with different backings, including satin, canvas and tulle. The process used to tailor, measure and apply the designs is called embroidery. Embroidery is often done as a form of needlework. Embroidery is also used for adornment and as a means of identification using numbers, letters and special symbols incorporated into the design.
