In this version we experimented with different methods of control because we were concerned that weaker patients might not be able to operate the hand pump. There are two packs (one in the white box) connected by a tube. The system is closed involving air being shifted between the two systems via the dial-knob on the box. Changing the level of air in the green pack will change the amount of insulation between the ice pack and the skin.
