playing around with some extreeeeeme depth of field.

I was still experimenting with a shallow focal length. However, the background in this photograph isn't as blurred as the picture of the coffee. I liked the way the colors of the newspaper stands contrasted the orange and green in the flowers.

(shutter speed and f-stop should be available below)

Movement: I captured this image as my dog was running towards me at a fast speed. Although his legs do not show much movement, it can be seen with his ears as they are up in the air. I took a series of photos while he was moving and got closer to me.

Even though this is a motionless object, I found the webs connecting the abstract subject in the middle interesting as they reach out to all sides of the photograph. There's depth of field here as the central object is visibly sharp compared to the blurry background.

Test shot for 365. Not what I was looking for, but I didn't want to consign this to the void anyway.

I love this one, and I dont even know why.

I didnt take it today, but Im trying to catch up on my 365, shame on me- I know!

This is deep depth of field because I used a high aperture.

This pic is the photo i took when this class was started and this is still my favorite

On a train station in Europe.

This fits the description because the purple item is in focus while the other pottery are semi-blurred

The only light in this picture was from the lighter itself. The specifications on this Flickr page claim that the f-stop was at f/13.0, but I remember (and have it documented in my notes) that I shot it at f/14.0. This is a 1 second shutter speed. I was surprised that the image didn't get too blurry being that I had to hold the camera and my hand still. I think the image is not very clear, but the extreme lighting hides some blur. I've always enjoyed the combination of flames and slog shutter speeds.

Cant say much more - I found this plant in the shed. It had been there for a year and looked a mess - It seems to have done alright :) I was just messing around with Depth of Field DOF one of these focuses on something in the background and has foreground out of focus (something that was discussed in the DSC-HX1 pool)

My favorite image from this set. :)

soft sandstone brick pattern - narrow depth of field

wow, sometimes my little camera impresses me

Depth markers on the main deck; it appears to be drawing seven and a half meters now, or only halfway to sinking the main deck.

I shot this photo by zooming into the object I was taking a picture of, also making sure that there is a some sort of backround.

Depth of field in play here.

I posted this photograph because I believe that this is a good example of the depth of field with the sharp dog in the foreground and the blurry water plants in the back round.

Work took me to Islesboro this week. I had about 45 minutes to kill before the next ferry so I ran around and took some pictures. This is an excellent place to go for photography especially if you have a better grasp of it than I do. Lots of opportunities in my brief trip of the island for photos.
