I came across an amazing security fence at the back of the old milk factory at Bason Bridge today. It had been painted many times and the rust was coming through the peeling paint and once more nature overcame man. The yellow and white lichens were dotted across the rails making tapestries of beautiful colour on an otherwise dull old November morning...I was in heaven looking at all the textures and colour so please indulge me with five of my favourite shots of this fabulous find!

While my buddy was tossing rocks high onto a thin layer of ice on a pond in Lefroy, I was tracking them with the 300mm. Every once in a while I'd capture the moment of impact.

#depth The giraffe is more clear and focus than hedgehog at background because of depth of field

I took this photo with a friend's lens at f/ 1.4. This shows a very shallow depth of field. I liked the effect it gave the photo with only part of the models face in focus.

This is one of my favorite photos. I think it's a good example of depth, motion and balanced colors.

Depth charges were simply set and rolled off the stern of the ship. In the rack is a drum-type depth charge; the black bomb-shaped thing is a Mk IX depth charge.

Just something beautiful I spotted..... so thought I'd "click" it and share.

It is amazing how life like emotions can exist in such life less materials.

Playing with the depth of field

I chose this because I like the way it shows depth and how the colors really pop. I like how the focal point is the pot furthest away.

Chloe is studying Graphic Design and Illustration at De Montfort University. She creates her work with a range of different media, one of her favourite being paper-cutting. Chloe likes to make things look hand-made and her ambition is to become a book illustrator, specialising in children's books.

Chloe’s book is a hand-crafted paper-cut book. She has cut every part of it with a scalpel. her chosen ebb and flow word is ‘Depth’. Chloe chose to relate this word to trees because when you look into a forest the first thing you realise is how much depth it has.

Having fun with my new camera, playing with the aperture values.

I'm going to be taking a break from posting for a while. Just haven't had the time to keep up with things of late.

This book has a good description of Quantum physics.

Yes quantum stuff is weird (and even weirder things are attributed to it)

but after reading this it at least seems logical!
