Der Königliche Palast Noordeinde im Zentrum von Den Haag dient als offizieller Amtssitz der niederländischen Monarchie und befindet sich nur unweit vom Binnenhof, dem Sitz des Parlaments der Niederlande.
Das auch als ’t Oude Hof bezeichnete Gebäude stammt aus dem Jahr 1533 und wurde 1640 von Pieter Post und Jacob van Campen umgebaut.
1814 ließ ihn König Wilhelm I. der Niederlande abermals ändern; 1948 verwüstete ein Brand einen großen Teil des Palasts, der anschließend für längere Zeit eine Internationale Schule beherbergte.
Nachdem er in den 1970er Jahren aufwändig restauriert wurde, dient der Palast heute als Amts- und Arbeitssitz des Königs, der hier auch Staatsbesuche empfängt.
Die strenge klassizistische Fassade wird einzig durch den Giebel gelockert, der das Wappen der Oranier trägt.
Vor dem Palast stehen Denkmäler für Wilhelm den Schweiger von 1845 und für Königin Wilhelmina.

At the head of the Lange Voorhout in The Hague stands a small 18th-century palace that is now dedicated to the work of M.C. Escher (1898-1972). Queen Emma bought the building in 1896, renovated it extensively and lived there between 1901 and her death in 1934. Princesses Wilhelmina, Juliana and Beatrix used it as a working palace and received ambassadors here

Als de zon net is ondergegaan ontstaat er vreemd licht waarbij het verschil tussen de zee en de lucht bijna verdwenen is.
Deze foto is niet gemanipuleerd. Heb alleen mijn camera tijdens de opname horizontaal bewogen. Dan heb je wel flink wat opnames nodig om de beste er uit te pikken. De rest gaat de prullenbak in.

Detail of the new The Hague terminal of the Erasmuslijn designed by ZJA Zwarts & Jansma. The Erasmuslijn is the vital 'Randstad Rail' light rail link between Rotterdam and The Hague.
Deze foto is gemaakt in Den Haag.
Lang was het hele terrein van het Binnenhof en het Buitenhof ommuurd.
Er waren poorten om van het Binnenhof naar de buitenhoven te gaan en vandaar de buitenwereld te betreden.
Op het plein van het Binnenhof bevinden zich prachtige gewelven en togen.
Dit zijn prachtige fotolocaties...

For a long time the entire grounds of the Binnenhof and the Buitenhof were walled.
There were gates to go from the Binnenhof to the outer courts and from there enter the outside world.
On the square of the Binnenhof are beautiful vaults and arches.

Een van de twee glazen trappenhuizen in de Koninklijke Schouwburg in Den Haag.
Het mooiste trappenhuis van de hele wereld als je het mij vraagt.
Hier sta ik helemaal beneden en kijk naar de glazen koepel op het dak.

De stad Den Haag dankt haar ontstaan aan het Binnenhof, dat in de loop van de eeuwen zorgde voor een aanwas van bestuurders en werklieden, die zich in de nabijheid vestigden. Het Binnenhof wordt gerekend tot de Top 100 van Nederlandse monumenten en is mogelijk het oudste parlementscomplex in Europa dat nog als zodanig dienstdoet, waarbinnen de vergaderzaal van de Eerste Kamer, rond 1655 gebouwd als vergaderzaal van de Staten van Holland en West-Friesland, kan worden gezien als de oudste in gebruik zijnde parlementaire vergaderzaal. Het woord "Binnenhof" staat in het Nederlandse taalgebruik vaak synoniem voor de landelijke politiek van Nederland.

Eindelijk een beetje zon. Op naar het strand om wat foto's te maken. Ik heb mijn camera een week lang niet in mijn handen gehad.
In de verte de Zandmotor, en daarachter de Tweede Maasvlakte.
Er stond veel wind en de zee was woest.

Today after being closed for almost 6 months because of covid-19 the doors of the museums in the Netherlands opened again. I was so happy to be able to visit one of my favorite museums the Kunstmuseum and saw the exhibition "A Dream of a Museum - Berlage's Masterpiece" about the design and construction of the museum itself.
