I think this is about as dark as my photography has ever gotten for the Dark City Deutschland collection, but I like to experiment and push boundaries; comfort zones are for the uninitiated! This is a skyward LE of the commercial Novotel Tiergarten Hotel in Berlin, taken on a dreary late night and a very light drizzle was present, hence the few drops on the lens, which at first I was objecting to, but Vera, my sexy partner in crime, said it made for an interesting feature within the image so I kept it.
I look at this and I think of dark alternative / parallel dimensions, a co-existence of sinister parameters where all is devoid of recognisable life, yet, all things are consciousness in the darker and more evil sense, if you ever have seen the movie Event Horizon you'll know what I mean; for another words, the building itself is a "living" entity, perhaps even demonic.

My eldest daughter that was nearby taking some night photos was using her red light to check something during my 10 second exposure. She said she was sorry when she realized what she was did ... but I told her the results looked pretty cool.

Demonic-looking bird with staring yellow eye set against black face. Otherwise gray with browner flanks, brown back with black streaks. Pale pink bill. Found in open habitats at high elevations, usually above 3000m but locally down to 2500m. Often on the ground or in small shrubs, usually in pairs or small groups. Very limited range only in Costa Rica and extreme western Panama. (eBird)

It was raining hard on our first search for this cute sparrow and the bird had far more sense than the birders and refused to come out and play. A second visit on a sunny morning was far more productive. After a rather fruitless search, the rest of the group went to take in the scenic view from a scary lookout, I stayed behind to continue the search. That's when this bird came out from the shrub right in front of me. He skulked around about ten feet away from me while I frantically waved to the returning landscape photographers. When everyone had returned, he hopped up into the sun and presented himself to the world. So cool and a great lifer bird.

In reality 30C+ temperatures had got to this Jackdaw., but with a bird bath and pond in the garden he was soon recovered and back pecking at the fat ball's on the bird feeder
