Apparently today is Evaluate Your Life Day, which centers around you pondering these three questions:
* Where have you been?
* Where are you now?
and
* Where are you going?
Can't really do much with the first question so no point in spending too much time dwelling on it. But plenty can still be done about the latter two.
Ok, go!

"Heavenly Shadows." The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Huntsville, Alabama. 19 Sep 2008.
It was really a blindingly bright morning. But I loved what the clouds were doing, and was trying to shoot the sun shining through them. Unfortunately or fortunately, I stopped down way too much in trying to expose it properly, completely overshot it, and instead captured this dark image of what strikes me as a heavenly light shining through a storm. It reminded me of an image from a childhood storybook, of God at the Creation as a light over the black void of the universe.
Another furtive shot that he didn't know I took. I like this one, I find it quite emotive...although I'm never sure about putting landscapes in b+w.
one of my first self portraits. turned the lights off in my room and used the light from my computer monitor while setting the self timer on a point and click camera sittin on an ironing board. whatever it takes right ?

On this fine August 8th day, while the world watched the Olympics, Al sat with his marigold friends and thought about summer, orange, the One Campaign, and Dr Pepper. Al the Monster has deep thoughts.
Just like Jack Handey used to have (if you are old enough to remember that Saturday Night Live bit). Our nearly 7 week old grandbaby, after a nice bottle and being held by everyone at our house for dinner. What a great life! Love the bright, big eyes. I saturated this down to just a hint of color. What do you think? I think it adds a softness and a timeless look, but others may differ.
