“Don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul.”
– Luther Burbank
Cleo made the big mistake to lie down on the tinsel and of course the photographer couldn't waste this opportunity. I just had to drape the tinsel around her neck and pretend not to notice the way she looked at me ...

Taken in the foyer of Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art, looking up at the ceiling. Artwork by children suspended from the balconies at each level enhanced the beautiful architecture.

Took this shot early in the morning last week, of the latest snowfall in my back garden, that painted everything white! It looked so pretty, but melted quickly!
You wouldn't think vegetation could thrive like this in such a hostile terrain, but somehow it does!
Door Trail - Badlands National Park
Looking down the inside of the trestle at trout Creek Canyon I noticed it has been decorated for Christmas with green and red paint. It looks pretty fresh, maybe done this year. Someone with lots of Covid time on their hands risked their life to paint the trestle for us.
Ein wundervoller sonniger Tag heute in Bremen, Deutschland
Der Frühling ist angekommen :)
A wonderful sunny day today here in Bremen, Germany
The spring has arrived :)
Hoffmann von Fallersleben August Heinrich (1798-1874)
Schöner Frühling, komm doch wieder,
Lieber Frühling, komm' doch bald,
Bring' uns Blumen, Laub und Lieder
Schmücke wieder Feld und Wald.
Auf die Berge möcht' ich fliegen,
Möchte seh'n ein grünes Tal,
Möcht in Gras und Blumen liegen
Und mich freu'n am Sonnenstrahl.
(als Volkslied bekannt)
Hoffmann von Fallersleben August Heinrich (1798-1874)
Beautiful spring, come on back,
Dear spring, come soon,
Bring us flowers, foliage and songs
Decorate the back field and forest.
The mountains would I fly,
Would like to see a Green Valley.
Want to lie in the grass and flowers
And n to the Sunbeam looking forward.
(known as folk song)
Built in 1222 A.D. by Minister Anantathura, who also set up an inscription in stone. The temple rests on a high platform and faces east. The interior walls are decorated with mural painting.
Located in the route between New Bagan and Nyaungu, this temple is just a few meters away from a local village. The temple itself is different from the rest with a white exterior.
This picture I captured in a restaurant at Dale Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum in Seattle, Washington. USA. The ceiling of the restaurant was decorated with the artist's personal collections of piano accordions and the wall with his abstract paintings!
I've used up the boring titles on the previous mountain photographs so decided to go with something more imaginative. Unable to think of a good word to complete the alliteration "dusk draped d...." I decided to think out of the box. Hope you like the photo and choice to title.

Amsterdam - Jan Luijken straat.
Architect: L. Kok, Year: 1902.
The Jan Luijkenstraat is said to be one of the most beautiful streets of Amsterdam. The buildings on- and around the Jan Luijkenstraat were all built around 1900, the same time art nouveau was flourishing in Europe. This is why it’s also home to the city's richest variety of art nouveau decorated front doors.

Manchester’s 2026 celebration for the Year of the Horse was a city-wide festival held primarily over the weekend of 14–15 February, ahead of the official Lunar New Year on Tuesday 17 February.
The Dragon Parade (Sunday 15 Feb) - The festival's centrepiece featured a 175ft traditional dragon. It departed from the junction of Oxford Street and George Street at 12:00pm, paraded through the city centre, and concluded in Chinatown with a final performance at approximately 1:45pm.
Lunar New Year Fair: A massive street market with over 130 stalls across Market Street, Exchange Square, and New Cathedral Street. It featured street food, independent crafts, and live entertainment like Cantonese opera and lion dances.
Chinatown Festival: The district was decorated with red lanterns and hosted a funfair, traditional lion dances, and a main stage for cultural performances.
