Took this shot early in the morning last week, of the latest snowfall in my back garden, that painted everything white! It looked so pretty, but melted quickly!
You wouldn't think vegetation could thrive like this in such a hostile terrain, but somehow it does!
Door Trail - Badlands National Park
Looking down the inside of the trestle at trout Creek Canyon I noticed it has been decorated for Christmas with green and red paint. It looks pretty fresh, maybe done this year. Someone with lots of Covid time on their hands risked their life to paint the trestle for us.
I've used up the boring titles on the previous mountain photographs so decided to go with something more imaginative. Unable to think of a good word to complete the alliteration "dusk draped d...." I decided to think out of the box. Hope you like the photo and choice to title.
Festively decorated chancel of St. Ludwig, Munich. The romanesque church was built between 1829 and 1844 and has the second largest altarpiece fresco in the world.
I captured this on a very dull day with little light inside the church but ugly haze coming in through the windows, so I had a hard time to get something reasonably usable from post-processing. To top it all off, the shadow of an inattentive photographer disturbs the scene 😄

My beautiful bird decorated!!! 1) stuffed; 2) decorated with herbs, Thymes, Rosemary (I cover my turkey with bacon like a mummy, LOL); 3) in the oven all pretty decorated, juicy and sizzling!!

This is the ceiling of the Choir of the Cathedral Church of Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, Chester.
The choir was built between 1283 and 1315 to the design of Richard Lenginour and is an early example of Decorated Gothic architecture.

The chapel, consecrated in 1617, is also part of the museum. It is the best preserved part of the Renaissance complex, having largely escaped damage in the 1859 fire. The chapel extends along the entire length of the west wing with a long nave and a two-storey gallery. The richly decorated six-vaulted stucco ceiling is borne by pillars rising from the galleries.
The pillars bear grisaille frescos of Biblical figures, painted in the 1690s. The galleries were decorated during the reign of Frederick III (1648–1670) as can be seen from his arms.
The Chapel's most significant artifact is the organ, built by Esajas Compenius in 1610. It was installed by Compenius himself shortly before his death in Hillerød in 1617. The oldest organ in Denmark, it has 1,001 wooden pipes. Its original manually driven blower has been preserved. The instrument is richly decorated with ebony, ivory and silver.
The altarpiece and pulpit from the early 17th century are the work of the silversmith Jacob Mores from Hamburg. In the king's prayer chamber adjoining the Chapel, there is a small silver altar crafted by the goldsmith Matthäus Wallbaum from Augsburg in 1600.
