Deciduous forest in Germany.
Living in the Pacific Northwest where we have dense evergreen forests, it was nice to see the light, deciduous forest for a change.

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like this Japanese Maple, one of my favourites, which I have been visiting regularly on my walks over the last month. It is now ablaze with the last of its beautiful reds, oranges and golds! And all too soon this autumnal ephemera will be gone until next year.
The day I took this photo was a lovely and sunny day with bright blue skies, although there was a crispness in the air. I thought I'd go for a walk and take advantage of the sunny conditions, as rain arrived the day after.

Eastern Chipmunk.
Between 8 1/2 to 11 3/4 inches in length. Reddish brown above with a white belly. 1 white stripe bordered by 2 black stripes on sides ending at the rump. 2 white stripes on back much thinner than side stripes. Dark center stripe down the back. Pale facial stripes above and below the eyes. Tail brown on tip and edged with black. Prominent ears.
The Eastern Chipmunk's habitat includes open deciduous woodlands, forest edges, brushy areas, bushes and stone walls in cemeteries and around houses.
They range from southeastern Canada and the north-eastern U.S. east from North Dakota and eastern Oklahoma and south to Missisippi, northwest Carolina and Virginia.

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like these ornamental pear trees, which are quickly gaining the rich gold, orange and red tones of the season.
Melbourne has experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are there still plenty of beautiful blooms about, but the Autumnal colours are starting to appear.
They are flowering shrubs in the genus Rhododendron, particularly the former sections Tsutsuji (evergreen) and Pentanthera (deciduous). Azaleas bloom in the spring (May and June in the temperate Northern Hemisphere), their flowers often lasting several weeks. Shade tolerant, they prefer living near or under trees. Azaleas are generally slow-growing and do best in well-drained acidic soil (4.5–6.0 pH). Fertilizer needs are low. Some species need regular pruning. Azaleas are native to several continents including Asia, Europe and North America. They are planted abundantly as ornamentals in the southeastern US, southern Asia, and parts of southwest Europe. In addition to being renowned for its beauty, the azalea is also highly toxic—it contains andromedotoxins in both its leaves and nectar, including honey from the nectar. 39631
