It's impossible to recover a movement blur with a sharpening filter : a sharpening filter will only add noise in this case but it will never recover details.
TOPAZ AI SHARPEN includes a new function called STABILIZE that is different from a simple sharpening filter. It tries to find a movement on the photo and to cancel it. That's why sometimes there are small artifacts on the opposite side of the movement, but it is really easy to deal with them with GIMP or photoshop.
To conclude : this tool deserves a try as it is free for 30 days.
It is very usefull for animals in movement (birds in flight, animals running ...), but it can manage movement of the photographer too.

As well as the excursion, this day was a testing day of sorts.
Got a new backpack a few weeks ago to carry gear (Mindshift BackLight). Check! Carried some extra gear just to add some weight and it felt great.
Got some new boots this past week that are water proof. Double check!! Feet kept dry.
And wanted to test using my Canon wide angle on the Sony camera. Autofocus speed is not great, so switch to manual focusing which isn't a big deal for landscapes. Focus peaking makes it easy. Check!

What happens to large structures that become derelict? No, this is not about 'me', but who is responsible or can you just be allowed to let something decompose irrespective of how it affects others or the environment? This may be a wreck in a better state than the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach harbour. Apparently it is at risk of sinking as there are no bilge pumps to drain the lower compartments and they are corroding and weakening. But who can afford the hundreds of millions that might be required to replace the weakened parts and keep it floating? The current owners seem to be suggesting it's not their problem. If it sinks, will they just leave someone else to pay the bills and deal with the wreck? It's a bit big.
No big deal..

Continuing to try out a new toy, I spotted some westbounds shooting out of the Bluff Yard on East Hump's command. On account of a double track parking lot at NTW on the St. Paul Sub, things had to go Midway Sub. Of course, this hopper train is heading for the Willmar Line, so no big deal. This shot works well with a uniform unit train.

Si ho speranza di un domani piu' a misura delle nostre aspettative! Si può essere speranzosi? Credo che nessuno ce lo possa negare.
Tutto è possibile, si puo' e si deve, e non stare continuamente a pingere su questo o quel nano ghiacciato, o su quella stagnante opposizione fatta di passetti avanti salti all'indietro!
Le elezioni Americane, qualunque sia il futuro politico di quel Paese, una lezione ce l'hanno data!
Cambiare si puo', e con le facce nuove si puo' ancora meglio!
Ecco perche' oggi mi sento il vento sulla faccia, rinfresca, non gela, la musica non stordisce, accompagna, il cielo non offusca, schiarisce, e le barche non servono per fuggire ma per navigare meglio nel NOSTRO MARE!
Non aspettiamoci tanto da chi è troppo lontano, pretendiamo di piu' da chi è nostro vicino di casa, in primis il nostro inquilino piu' scomodo: NOI STESSI!
