Last time, I posted a photo of the epic Mount Vestrahorn in Iceland's east, blanketed in a carpet of wildflowers during summer. This time, it's covered in snow in the midst of winter. The area is stunning for photography with endless compositions, rain, hail or shine.

The mesmerising landscape of Iceland is made even more enchanting by the beautiful glow of the Northern Lights dancing overhead. At Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, not only will you have the chance to capture the aurora borealis, but you will find yourself immersed in what seems like a winter dreamscape, with chunks of ice floating around you as the stars are reflected in the water itself.

Hi dear Flickrs,
a photo from the kayak-tour yesterday through Switzerland on the Rhine. The weather was not the best but the whole daytour we paddled without any rain. The Rhine is so beautiful to paddle along by kayak or canoe. So we enjoyed the fast ride through the wonderful nature areas.

According to old Icelandic folklore, the sea stack known as Hvitserkur is a petrified troll. The environment surrounding Hvitserkur is quite fascinating, with mossy rocks contrasted by volcanic black sand. The area is also well-known for being a seal-watching site.

Late afternoon sun casts long shadows on the Drakensberg Mountains alongside the Sani Pass on the border of South Africa and Lesotho, the world's highest country. The road up there is the third highest road in the world and requires a 4x4.
We were lucky to have a very experienced guide in Don from Daytours ( daytourskzn.co.za/ ) who expertly drove us up the treacherous Sani Pass which reaches 3000 metres above sea level. I'd recommend the trip to anyone, it counts as one of my best ever experiences.
