Saturday. I should be writing something.
But I can't stop thinking...
...and listening to the same Be Good Tanyas song over and over, finding myself between the lines....
Today I feel like I'm the something being written. And that's okay.

"Keeping a Light On"
When I thought of this theme I immediately thought of how people used to keep a candle burning for people who were away, especially soldiers. I thought of that idea, but wanted to also portray others who had not waited, who had given up on whatever it was they were waiting for and moved on.
Today was not my most creative or fun photography day. I had an idea in my head but it just didn't come out the way I wanted it to and I didn't get a chance to view any photos from my Flickr friends. That's why I'm needing a rainbow to make me smile.
Over the next few days, I won't be able to view photostreams and comment as quickly as usual but I will catch up.

Today we went to Tate Modern to see the Dora Marr exhibition. It spans her work as a photographer in the 1920s, through to her relationship with Picasso, and her surrealist art. I preferred her earlier work as a photographer myself. It was very interesting looking at her work, noticing the lighting in particular. This had to be so precise in the negative, as, although darkroom processing can work wonders, it cannot repair a bad negative.
Just outside the gallery, I was chimping another shot, when I noticed someone walking past and quickly grabbed her reflection in the rain.
I'm enjoying using the black and white film simulations in the X100F, and this is an in camera jpegs with not much processing.

it's rainy tonight. and when it's rain there's nothin better than a cup of milk.
confession: the colours are not photoshopped in this picture, in my living room everything is orange for real. starting with the walls, the floor and the curtains and ending with the sofa :S we're colours addicted in my family :)

confessione: i colori nn sono fotoscioppati, è che a casa mia abbiamo la fissa dei colori, e il mio salotto è interamente arancione, dai parati, al pavimento, alle tende, passando per i divani :S
lo so che è pure storta, ma non ho di meglio, abbiate pietà :'(
