The autumn 2025 bird survey results are collated. Since last autumn ’24, we have added 4 species to our survey’s overall park list. We now have recorded 100 species since we began in 2021.
Those new birds were Fork-tailed Swift, Great Cormorant, White-winged Triller and White-naped Honeyeater.
The total birds observed this autumn = 241. Autumn 2024 = 832.
(Please note that in 2024 that high number included a large flock of 200 Little Corella.) Down this autumn by 591.
Autumn 2025 the species of birds observed = 34. Autumn 2024 = 63. Down by 29 species.
To summarise - this spring we recorded 116 more birds than our winter season 2023 surveys, we recorded 7 more species than in winter 2023 and added 2 new species since winter to our overall list.
- this spring we recorded 38 less birds than our spring season 2022 surveys, we recorded 1 less species than last spring 2022 but during the year added 5 new species since last spring to our overall list.

We ended with a very interesting morning today after a slow start. It was wonderful to see those Pardalotes so active and hear the Rufous Whistlers in full song.
