Have a lovely day.. thanks for looking..

I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to view, fave or comment on my photo. It is very much appreciated

Generally quite dark compared to other orb web spiders and can be found close to water where their webs are spun on fencing, buildings and bridges and rarely on vegetation. Close to a river near me where I live a river flows under a road in a tunnel these Orbweb spiders can be found and seen in their webs close to the lights that help to light up the pathway where they have the best of both worlds, warmth from the lights where I have even seen the adults spiders here in February with snow outside and plus their prey such as moths and flies are attracted to the lights also. Its amazing to see their webs so close together and not eating each other, nature can be truly amazing at times.

Dark-eyed junco (Junco hyemalis) is a little sparrow, generally patterned with gray, white, and shades of tan. All have pinkish bills and white outer tail feathers. Juveniles are streaky. Breeds in a variety of forested habitats, especially with conifers. Found in any wooded habitat in the winter, often in flocks. Usually forages on the ground for seeds, but also fond of brushy thickets or weedy fields.

Wikipedia: The dark-eyed junco (Junco hyemalis) is a species of junco, a group of small, grayish New World sparrows. This bird is common across much of temperate North America and in summer ranges far into the Arctic. It is a very variable species, much like the related fox sparrow (Passerella iliaca), and its systematics are still not completely untangled.

Conservation status: Least Concern

Point Bonita Lighthouse keeps watch over the entryway to San Francisco Bay as dawn breaks along the Marin Headlands. I was standing on the shady side of the ridge, as the sunlight poured out from the bay like the beam from a night watchman's flashlight.

‘Because the world does not belong to us. Because we're nothing, leftovers.

Because we are tumbleweeds on roads. Because we are every lost, dashing, shadow. Because we're poems on sidewalks.

Because you are the needle in my arm.

We are equals.

We are mirrors.

We cut the night’.

Found this very tiny but chunky bird hopping around our neighbourhood's unkempt lawns for 2 days, first thinking he could not fly, maybe he was injured. Eventually I took this shot in front of our apartment building.

Checking on the species, I also saw a similar shot listed as an Oregon Dark Eyed Junco bird. He really was very cute, much more so than many birds I normally see here in our very urban neighbourhood; he really had these great colours. Of course I was happy he was OK and that this hopping around is looking for seeds, not due to an injury.
