What does a highway in Dallas have to do with Denton history? Quite a bit. Our history will always be tied in with Dallas and Fort Worth. We once called ourselves "The Top of the Golden Triangle". I asked someone from those two cities once what it was like to be the bottom of the Golden Triangle. He answered that at least it was on a sound base. The American highway system is for all rights and purposes the "Eighth Wonder of the World,." It's just too common place for us to see it clearly. The fact that it links Denton to Dallas is a whole cultural and economic chapter by itself.

Got a Helios 44M recently and wanted to test that sucker out.

Here's a shot from a moving vehicle. You can do it with a good camera--in this case a Yashica 35mm, with an electric (battery powered) shutter.

I mentioned elsewhere that I had to see Dr. William B. Snyder after he performed surgery on my retinas (the lining of the eye). After the Medical Arts Building in downtown Dallas was torn down, Dr. Snyder and Texas Retina Associates moved to this building in north Dallas, and then from there to another location, still. I gave a copy of one of these shots to Dr. Snyder as a thank you gift for saving my eye sight.

All sorts of critters adapt themselves to the world of man in order to survive and perpetuate their species. Here's one example.

After waiting for a several Trinity Railway Express commuter trains and a BNSF freight, one of DGNO's daily trains departs Mockingbird Yard westbound on the west side of Dallas. I'll admit I don't know much about their operations, but if I had to guess, the train was heading for BNSF's Irving yard. The pair of ubiquitous G&W orange SD40-2s put on a decent smoke show at least!
