The story of my week has been god-awful early wake-ups. I'm trying to get up and out of the house before the contractor gets here to work on my en suite bathroom. I figured if I'm getting up early, I might as well walk to work, right? Well, after three days of leaving the house before six, I decided to sleep in this morning because the contractor was going to be late. So I woke up at the usual hour, snapped a picture of my clock, then went back to sleep. I luxuriated in a decadent lie-in... getting out of bed at 6:45 and not walking. I was in the office before 7:20.
(My assigned lens today was the fifty.)

Stuck on your high-carb diet? piersey.com/high-carb-diet-stopped-working/ Here’s how I broke my plateau without quitting carbs — small tweaks, big results, real progress.

Even if I don't see her every day, this child is very much a part of my everyday life. There hasn't been a day since she was born that I haven't seen or spoken to her.
Just over four years ago, I had a surgery that changed my life for the better. For many years, I dealt with severe leg tightness and pain. I was finally diagnosed with a torn hip labrum and had arthroscopic surgery to repair it. The recovery was long as I worked to rebuild muscles and balance. Taking daily short walks was of the utmost importance.
On these summer walks, my mom and I noticed these flowers in an elevated yard by a historic home. They were begging to be photographed. This sequence of shots was one that I intended to post long ago, but didn't get around to it. So, here are some golden yellow and bright orange Nasturtiums for your viewing pleasure.
Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!
