Burn2 2016 - DaVinci - my Ornithopter-Go-Round, a scripted ride based on DaVinci's ornithopter plans.
We want to thank everyone involved (especially DaVinci's Dreamworks 2!) in making MCLS's first-ever FanFest! such a success!
It was a total blast and we can't wait to see you all next year, along with many more new faces!!
In case you missed it, here's some of the awesome stuff that went down last Saturday:
-Who's Doctor Who?
-Raffles
-Harry Potter Potions Class
-Manga Magic Class
-Photobooth
-Free Comic Books
-Rainbow Corner (Featuring Adventure Time/My LIttle Pony/Hello Kitty crafting!)
-Crafting w/ Comics
-Minecraft
-Cosplay Contest
This is another one of my favorites, but I almost never finished it. After completing about half of this puzzle, I got extremely frustrated and left it (and puzzling altogether) for over 6 months. One day I decided I was going to finish it one way or another and started working on it again. I guess the break helped since it only took me a couple weeks to finish. I am a notoriously slow puzzler, so this was at least for me making good time.
I was fortunate enough to see the original painting in the Louvre. I thought David's masterwork far exceeded DaVinci's vastly more popular Mona Lisa. I just love classical French Paintings.
I only learned that Ravensburger produced this puzzle in a 5000 piece format after completing this puzzle. Now I am torn if I should buy it if it ever comes up for sale on Ebay. I do think, at least by looking at the colors on the box, that the 5000 puzzle has richer colors. The 3000 is very brown and muted.
My whimsical depiction of DaVinci's last supper. Mixed metal pin of sterling silver and acid-etched copper. Made of mostly recycled metal.
The ferret was from a fairgoer who happened to stop by. Inspired by Leonardo Davinci's painting "Lady with an Ermine". She brought it up (I'd totally forgotten about it). We didn't have the painting with us so we went with it.
I went to France to see DaVinci's Mona Lisa. I was thoroughly dissapointed, it was not as impressive in real life. You would think he would have made more effort what with his book selling so well.

This is an image that I had re-processed for the Quilt Project and I like it better than the one I posted back in August. Why, because since that time I have learned so much from the Flickr community that I can see the improvement in my work...thanks everyone!
