The docklands has always been a major component of the Dublin’s history and development. Beginning with the Vikings and Norman settlers the docklands became quite a significant commerce and trading hub. Recently companies such as Google and Facebook have created tens of thousands of jobs and transformed the docklands into a bustling area. Only a short distance from the City Centre it has become home to numerous entertainment venues including music, theatre, opera, exhibitions and galleries. If you are feeling daring the docklands offers a variety of outdoor activities including kayaking and wake boarding. Dublin’s Docklands is sure to have something for everyone, why not make a day of it?

Rescan of a shot I took in 2008
This handsome young man walked up as I was on the jungle gym with my then four year-old son. He stared intently into the lens of my medium format Bronica ETRSi and waited for me to take his photo. After I did, he walked away, happy. Not a word was exchanged!
His father later told me that he was an immigrant from, if I recall correctly, Senegal, and that he had just arrived the day before and did not speak any English.
Technical information:
Camera: Bronica ETRSi
Lens: Zenzanon EII 75mm f/2.8
Film: Fujifilm Pro 160c developed by the now defunct Cord Camera in Dublin, Ohio
Digitized with a Fujifilm X-T5, Canon EF-mount Sigma 105mm macro lens mounted using the excellent Fringer EF-FX Pro II (an adapter that allows full autofocus and aperture control), and the Valoi 360 film holder
Software: Negmaster and Photoshop
