Le « doux lieu de la bienheureuse Marie », ancienne propriété de l’abbaye de Choques, fut l’une des communes les plus dévastées par la Grande Guerre. L’imposante église Notre-Dame de ‘Assomption incendiée le 11 octobre 1914 est reconstruite au même emplacement et réouverte au culte en 1928. Le style romano-byzantin du nouveau sanctuaire, très prisé par Louis-Marie Cordonnier, fait aussi place aux élans art déco chers à son fils Stanislas.
J’ai une belle description de l’intérieur de cette église malheureusement fermée.
