The Small Copper is a common butterfly that prefers flowery places. They can be found in flowery roadsides, parks and green areas. They also do well in gardens where there is flowery grassland nearby.

On the fringes of a densely crowded marketplace in the Guatemalan highlands, a reverent silence looms over the ivory gate of the General Cemetery. Beyond its deceptively sterile exterior, hundreds of vibrant tombstones pepper the hillside.

To outsiders, the passionate display of color may seem incongruent with loss of life — but according to indigenous Maya tradition, honoring the dead encourages the living to make peace with the inevitability of death.

The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. C'est le plus grand triton d'Europe : il peut atteindre 30 cm en liberté, et 20 cm en captivité. Sa peau verruqueuse est brune, son ventre beige à pois noirs. Sa longue queue représente environ la moitié de sa longueur totale. En cas d'attaque, il est capable de faire saillir ses côtes hors de son corps. Ce système de défense est à l'origine de sa dénomination commune en anglais et en portugais (triton à côtes saillantes). Ce fut le zoologiste allemand Franz von Leydig qui découvrit ce mécanisme de défense, en 1879.

Presque exclusivement aquatique, il préfère les eaux calmes et propres. Il est doté de poumons, et remonte régulièrement en surface.

L'UICN classe le pleurodèle de Waltl comme espèce quasi menacée dans sa liste rouge de 2006

This tiny blossom is less than 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) in diameter with tiny little satellites around the edges. So I did not know if to submit as Macro Monday or Mono Monday - so you get them both!

It wasn’t until I started going through my ties to choose one to wear for an event a few days ago that I realised just how many feature a dot of some sort. Geometrical shapes featured heavily with parallel lines and circles in the majority! So this is just an interesting trio incorporating dots in the design.

Food seems to have been a bit of a theme for me recently, fortunately I don't like liquorice so will be giving it away gladly!

Designed for grip and comfort. Nice triangular barrel with raised dots for grip. I was surprised on ‘developing’ the macro just how grainy and rough was the wood giving these delightful pencils a harsh look. As you can see, we get through lots of them!
